  • Outstanding Visit

"This house worked well for the three of us visiting Anchorage. Well situated for the hiking activities we had planned. We saw 7 moose in Kincade Park right from the trail. You must drive to matanuska glacier, a must see! We went to Whittier for a glacier cruise and saw a humpback whale and visited the Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage. Seward was nice and Valdez was foggy but saw many water falls near that area. The house slept four adults comfortably and was very clean. Groceries and food are close and we had everything we needed if we cooked at the home. I would stay or recommend this home to others that are in the Anchorage area!"

  • River heaven

"Better than the pictures. Gorgeous landscaping and flowers everywhere. Quiet. Actually a pretty good location (use the Fairbanks map they provide and it will be easy to navigate Fairbanks).Everything you need to cook whatever you want. It was a little buggy but you are probably gonna get that near any river in the area. And you are a minute walk from the river. The upstairs is cool and it is nice to have 1.5 bathrooms. There are hundreds of little things that make it very very homey and relaxing. A great place to rent if you are actually going to hang out there (versus just sleep).."

  • Beautiful, quite location.

"The scenery was unbelievably beautiful. Location quiet and peaceful. Accommodations clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. We drove in to Homer to the Spit, walked along boardwalk, bought salmon at the fish market for dinner. We were there just after Labor Day and many shops and restaurants were closed for the season. I would recommend this home to others and plan a return as well. Holly was quick to respond to my questions. Thank you for providing a wonderful accommodation."

  • Nice artistic touches make it feel like home, and even the shower has a view.

"We really enjoyed our stay, and the artistic touches throughout the place were a pleasant surprise - the listing photos don't quite do justice to the quality of the space. Even with really rainy weather we could still enjoy the amazing views. It was actually great to have a place where you could sit inside when it was raining and still look out at the beautiful scenery, rather than feeling like you were just losing your vacation by hiding inside somewhere. Even the shower has probably the best view of any shower in Seward - Mt. Marathon! The owner quickly and pleasantly introduced himself once we pulled into the driveway. The space is great, and location is perfect - we walked downtown for coffee and bagels at the Resurrection Art coffee shop in the morning and for dinner at the Cookery in the evening. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the overall layout with the open kitchen/living space works well for a social traveling group. However, the bedrooms are immediately off the living room, so it might not work well for a group that has some people who want to go to bed early and some who don't. I'm not sure it was clear in the posting that there isn't exactly a normal dining table - dining seating is just at the kitchen bar - but this wasn't an issue for us. The kitchen was better equipped than the rental we had been in the night before in Anchorage. It took us a bit to find the laundry detergent tucked away downstairs, but we did eventually find it before we had to ask the owners. Overall we didn't have a single complaint and really enjoyed our stay. Our one request or recommendation to the owners would be to invest in heavier-duty bar stools for the dining space, as we had to keep a close eye on our 11 month old to ensure he didn't grab the leg of one and tip it over on his head."
