  • Ideal home for family reunion

"We stayed in this beautiful home in July. It was ideally suited for our extended family (slept 10 comfortably) with three private bedrooms, additional sleeping areas, open kitchen, laundry--all amidst a beautiful setting. Chris went out of her way to make certain we were comfortable and had what we needed. The home is very well taken care of, and so clean. We enjoyed fires outside and looking for whales. Our only regret was that we had to go home, and didn't have an opportunity to book a fishing trip with Daniel. Highly recommended !"

  • Beautiful scenery on private lake

"This cabin was the perfect place for us! It is on a private lake that offers beautiful scenery. We got to see a Caribou across the lake, and Moose were standing by the roadside. Ted and Elaina are so kind and welcoming. You will thouroghly enjoy your stay here!"

  • Nice artistic touches make it feel like home, and even the shower has a view.

"We really enjoyed our stay, and the artistic touches throughout the place were a pleasant surprise - the listing photos don't quite do justice to the quality of the space. Even with really rainy weather we could still enjoy the amazing views. It was actually great to have a place where you could sit inside when it was raining and still look out at the beautiful scenery, rather than feeling like you were just losing your vacation by hiding inside somewhere. Even the shower has probably the best view of any shower in Seward - Mt. Marathon! The owner quickly and pleasantly introduced himself once we pulled into the driveway. The space is great, and location is perfect - we walked downtown for coffee and bagels at the Resurrection Art coffee shop in the morning and for dinner at the Cookery in the evening. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the overall layout with the open kitchen/living space works well for a social traveling group. However, the bedrooms are immediately off the living room, so it might not work well for a group that has some people who want to go to bed early and some who don't. I'm not sure it was clear in the posting that there isn't exactly a normal dining table - dining seating is just at the kitchen bar - but this wasn't an issue for us. The kitchen was better equipped than the rental we had been in the night before in Anchorage. It took us a bit to find the laundry detergent tucked away downstairs, but we did eventually find it before we had to ask the owners. Overall we didn't have a single complaint and really enjoyed our stay. Our one request or recommendation to the owners would be to invest in heavier-duty bar stools for the dining space, as we had to keep a close eye on our 11 month old to ensure he didn't grab the leg of one and tip it over on his head."

  • Nicely maintained, beautiful views!

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Girdwood Condo. Beautiful views from the deck. Private hot tub. Comfortable living. Location, cleanliness and decor are 5 stars. Only concern is the noise from the condo above. All of the condos must have laminate floors (like a cheaper pergo). Thus, when people are walking, even without shoes you can hear them. But, after all, it is a condo and there are people around so one has to be expecting some of that. I would recommend the condo owners change their floorings, add extra padding underneath the floors and possibly a different type of laminate or carpet would help reduce the pitter patter of feet. :) That said, its a great place and we would stay there again. thank you!"
