  • Great home near Alyeska Resort!

"We decided to spend a getaway weekend during the shoulder season in Anchorage. But, when we arrived at this little gem in Girdwood near the Alyeska Resort, we found ourselves in such a comfortable home in a great little town that we found no reason to return to explore Anchorage. Other than how close the home is to a couple of neighboring properties (we prefer a little isolation when renting a home in the mountains), we can't say anything negative about the property or our experience with the owners. They were easy to reach and ready to help with anything we needed - which was nothing. Everything worked perfectly. The home is sooo comfortable. And the hot tub creates a nice way to end a day of hiking, biking, or any other activity."

  • absolutely perfect

"We had the best time staying here. The views are spectacular, the cottage is cozy and had everything we needed, and the hot tub was the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. If we are ever back in Homer, we will definitely stay here again."

  • Beautiful House Great Location Awesome Owners!

"Title says it all. Ruby and her hubby met us and gave us the lowdown on the town , places to eat, things to do. Their home is awesome, great views of the bay with Binoculars for whale watching from the desk in the study. Big windows facing the bay, but in town, so close enough to walk to shops, the grocery store and even head out on trails to hike. Restaurants Ruby and I recommend "The Soup Cup" in walking distance and "The Mermaid" on the "Spit" just to name two. We did not have a bad meal while here and only cooked twice. Homer is a beautiful small town and the climate is fantastic. The days are long with almost 20 hours of light, but for this stay, 24 would have been better. I didn't want to leave and WILL be going back. Needed a pot to cook crab legs, Ruby had one, complete book of things to do trails to hike in the study. We did the Halibut, Rock Fish and Salmon charters and caught lots of fish. If you fish, there are several processing places where for $2.00 per pound they will skin, vacuum pack, freeze and box for checked baggage any fish you want to bring home. we returned with 75 pounds of Halibut and salmon fillets. Having a house to come back to after all day on a boat in the bay was just great, couldn't have been better. Love the house, Homer, the people and the "Spit". My dream is to follow the whales....Alaska in the summer...... Hawaii in the winter......check it out you'll agree. PS my wife said she slept better in Rubys bed than at home in ours!"

  • Awesome!

"Our three day stay was above our expectations! Why would you stay at a hotel when you can stay here! Laura greeted my wife and me and showed us the accommodations. It was just like the pictures, meaning all was as described. It was a full size one bedroom apartment which was located under the main residence. Laura ensured we were very comfortable. Also, she had provided a dish with muffins and fruit. Coffee and tea were also made available. There was a grill available, which we used as well. Our three day stay included, eating at the Seven Glaciers restaurant on top of the mountain there in Girdwood (get there by tram), 26 glacier site seeing (Laura was able to get us a 10% discount) by boat in Whittier and our final day in Seward. We would most definitely stay here again! Thank you again Laura!"
