  • Perfect for family holiday getaway

"The GIrdwood condo was easy to find and secluded, while a five minute walk to the day lodge. The condo had plenty of sleeping spaces and a sufficiently large gathering space to comfortably fit our family of young adults and friends for dinner and games that evening on the card table. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and make breakfast with a dishwasher for easy cleanup. The carpets seem to be brand new and the condo was very clean, orderly and rustically pleasant, with thoughtful details. The condo was just as it appeared in the photos and Bethan was easy to work with and very responsive. Thanks for a great stay!"

  • Super Place and Owner

"We liked what we saw on the internet and started a dialog with Patty, the owner. She was extremely helpful and thoughtful. We asked a lot of questions and thought we may be asking too much, but Patty was always willing to answer us and give us all kinds of ideas(with web sites) for things to do in the area. The property is on the side of a hill overlooking Kachemak Bay. We fell in love with the place the second we drove into the driveway; the view is awesome! We must have 50 pictures of just this view. We arrived late but that was no problem since access is by a keypad that Patty had all set up for us. We had 7 people, 2 of these were kids(7 &10), 2 were over 65. I was nursing a broken hip so I had a cane but the steps to the house were easy and I had no problems anywhere on the property. Several nights a few of stayed up late and saw three moose eating Patty's flowers. Patty probably does not like it, but being from Texas, we thought it was one of the highlights of the trip. One day after we had been out sightseeing we came back to the house and found that Patty had picked strawberries from her garden and left us a container of them. Patty had also mentioned that we could pick a few stalks of rhubarb from her garden so we did that and made strawberry/rhubarb pie for dessert. It was delicious! I had never had an owner do that before. It was really a nice touch. The yard was immaculate as well, with all kinds of beautiful flowers around. Patty also left a lawn golf game for us to use; we played with it almost everyday. In the mornings we took coffee outside to sit at the table in the yard and just enjoy the view and fresh air. After a day of site seeing we again were outside, this time with a cold drink to absorb more view. One evening we made a fire outside and toasted marshmallows and made s'mores with graham crackers and chocolate. Another treat! The inside of the house was well maintained and there was plenty of room for us with some to spare. The kitchen was well stocked, which is good, since two of our group really like to hang out there and the rest of us like the results of that. The kids enjoyed the TV a few nights.(nice speaker system) There are all kinds of things to do in the area and Patty mentioned 8-10 in e-mails before we arrived, but she also has a table that has all kinds of local information. All in all, we highly recommend Patty's place even above VRBO properties we have rented in Seward, Maine, & Costa Rica."

  • Awesome!

"Our three day stay was above our expectations! Why would you stay at a hotel when you can stay here! Laura greeted my wife and me and showed us the accommodations. It was just like the pictures, meaning all was as described. It was a full size one bedroom apartment which was located under the main residence. Laura ensured we were very comfortable. Also, she had provided a dish with muffins and fruit. Coffee and tea were also made available. There was a grill available, which we used as well. Our three day stay included, eating at the Seven Glaciers restaurant on top of the mountain there in Girdwood (get there by tram), 26 glacier site seeing (Laura was able to get us a 10% discount) by boat in Whittier and our final day in Seward. We would most definitely stay here again! Thank you again Laura!"
