  • The Best of Girdwood

"Nestled on a quiet street a few blocks from the Alyeska Resort, this home had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths that would be comfortable for 6, thought it was only 4 of us. We saw black bear several days from the cabin, and were able to access all of the area quickly from this location: Anchorage is about 45 minutes away, Whittier is 45 minutes the other way, and Seward is a short 2+ hour drive through some of the prettiest scenery imaginable. . Thea (the owner) was more than helpful and there were brochures and other highlights in the cabin. The morning view from the front room is incredible. A must do is the Alyeska Tram which is located not 10 minutes away. When it's clear on the mountain you can see for miles. The local restaurants were always full, but the Double Musky was a standout. Be sure and try that one. There's a "general store" in Girdwood, but the prices reflect the sole source; plan on stocking up at a WalMart in Anchorage. There were several ski lifts within minutes of the cabin, but we went in the summer and didn't use those facilities. Our trip was a bucket list item and will be an enjoyable memory for years to come, so you too need to stay at the Best of Girdwood."

  • Absolutely incredible stay

"We could not have asked for more from this perfect cottage. It is far more spacious than we imagined. We had a wonderful, thrilling afternoon watching a Momma Moose and her two babies in the yard - for FIVE hours. It was incredible. From upstairs, there is a beautiful view, that is best enjoyed wth a nice glass of your favorite beverage! Sue and Jim have thought of anything and everything you might need. They are incredibly easy to work with, nad made our first Home Away the standard we will not expect! Perfect location, perfect space, perfect hosts! We hope to return to Homer and will surely stay in this cottage."

  • Lovely place to stay! Quiet and comfortable.

"We (me, husband, 2 girls (16 & 12) stayed in this condo for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. It had plenty of room for us and was comfortable. It was so nice to have a kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes (and a few spices!) and also a washer & dryer. The view from the deck is really nice, and the condo complex was quiet, which we appreciated. Very easy to get to local places from the condo. Upon securing this rental, we were given helpful instructions on where to stop for groceries before coming into the town of Girdwood. Really appreciated that. The only thing we wish we could've changed was the temperature on the hot tub. It was really hot (104), and we would've liked to have lowered it a few degrees so we could sit and enjoy it for a longer period of time. However, there were instructions not to change the temperature, so we didn't. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Girdwood! Tip: While in Girdwood, book a helicopter tour with Alpine Air. We did the 90 minute glacier landing tour and it was worth every penny. (Very expensive, but it was one of the favorite things we did.) A great introduction to the amazing beauty of Alaska!"

  • Great view, lots of space, the perfect home for a family!

"We stayed for 4 nights in early July and had a great time. The property is well-maintained, the description was accurate, and the owners are very responsive and great! This was our first VRBO and I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it was super easy and I wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again! I would recommend anyone staying in Anchorage with a family (large or small) to go for this property. The location is great for getting to either Anchorage or Girdwood/Whittier/Seward. Highlights of our trip included taking the train to Seward, seeing the wildlife conservation center near Girdwood, and of course eating Moose's Tooth for dinner. This is a fantastic property!"
