  • Wonderful!

"We rented Captain Morgan's House for a week in August. 4 adults were very comfortable in the top portion of duplex. Views were fantastic! Mary was very gracious and informative. Highly recommend staying here."

"This rental truly is a home away from home. My family and I were relocating to the Ketchikan area and were going to be separated for a few months, I was looking for a place that offered full amenities. The Red Oar was nothing short of accommodating to me and ultimately my family (of 4) when they joined me for a couple of weeks before we moved into our new Ketchikan residence! This location had everything, literally everything I needed to feel like I was at home. The front room was larger in person and provided all the space we needed to lounge about. The cabinets were stocked with books and games and movies if we got bored of the breathtaking scenery that was just outside the two large front windows. The kitchen is fully stocked, pots/pans, dishes, cooking utensils, small appliances, cleaning supplies, etc., a quick trip to the grocery store for your favorite snacks and you will be set. The bathroom and shower room(s) were fully stocked as well, our son fell in love with the "Towel Spa" that heated our towels on those cold winter nights! The master bedroom provided ample space and the queen bed was plush and comfortable. They did offer a sauna which we opted not to utilize during our stay. You literally only need to have a suitcase of clothes when choosing this location to enjoy the local sights and attractions that Ketchikan has to offer. This location is approx. 4 miles South of town, driving past Ketchikan's famous Creek Street and then into downtown is an added bonus. Bugge Beach is a MUST for that early evening/dusk walk to see a sunset you won't want to miss! The Tongass highway has several beach and State Park locations to stop at if you have a chance to drive the (ocean) scenic route while you are out and about. If you want to try the best homemade pies (on earth) you can make a pit-stop at the Dock-Side Galley approx. 1 mile from this location, bring your appetite, the portions are huge! This location is immaculate, quiet, comfortable and extremely inviting. The property owners were amazing, we would highly recommend this location when picking the perfect home away from home!"

  • Nice spot

"This is a well maintain and well appointed apartment with a beautiful view. The owner is responsive. I would definitely recommend this place. Having a vehicle comes in handy since it is south of town."
