  • The Cozy Bear on a scale of 10 is a 12!

"Four of us stayed at the Cozy Bear for four nights in August. We only used two of the four bedrooms, and the house is large enough to easily handle an addition four people. The decor was fantastic! Every piece of furniture, pictures, and decorations are artfully selected to really highlight this place. There is a jacuzzi in the bathroom off the master bedroom that our wives enjoyed after a day of hiking. We enjoyed barbecuing on the deck and having drinks around the gas outdoor fireplace. The views are great. We found the location in Cooper Landing to be centrally located for our visits to Seward, Soldotna, Kenai, and Whittier. All were about an hours drive from Cooper Landing. This is the best place we have stayed at during our HomeAway stays. You will not be disappointed in this place!"

  • Brand new clean house with Kachemak bay views

"We stayed at the Gingerbread house for five nights in July 2016. The house is brand new and very clean. The bathroom was spotless. Each room has high ceilings and its own heater. The main room is expansive with abundant natural light. We had our meals on the back deck enjoying the bay view. The house is very private and very quiet. We had no problem driving to the Homer spit and also to the Russian village at the terminus of East End road. The views from East End road and also from nearby Skyline road are incredible. We took Mako water taxi to Glacier spit for a hike to Grewingk Glacier Lake at the base of Grewingk glacier. The scenery was heavenly. We saw humpback whales and sea otters en route. The Gingerbread house is within a mile of Homestead restaurant which had an excellent sablefish (also known as black cod or butterfish) entree. Fritz Creek grocery had delicious hummus as well as duck noodles with the most tender duck that I have ever had."

  • The Perfect Ski Trip

"What a wonderful place to stay if you are going to be in Girdwood. The owners are extremely nice and personally welcome you into their home. The location is unbeatable, with the ski lifts less than 2 blocks from the front door. But more impressive is the house itself. Perfect layout with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on the main entry level, all with very comfortable beds. The second floor is HUGE, wide open and full of windows, perfect for friends and family to hang out with each other. A hot tub and large deck on the second level provide the ideal relaxation area. Large eat-in kitchen with an abundance of cooking supplies, a 2 way gas fire place and in-wall wired stereo system are all on the second floor as well. Finally, the master suite on the 3rd level is a nice little retreat. Large walk through closet, claw-foot tub, dual vanity, plus a very comfortable bed. All-in-all, I would not want to stay anywhere else if I come back to Girdwood, regardless of the season. Book this place if it is available. Completely worth it!"

  • Beautiful, peaceful.

"I stayed here at Neklason Lake October 3-18, 2016. Brenda and Bob are very warm and kind hosts. Everything one could need is included in this rental for a comfortable stay. The place is clean and lovely with a gorgeous view of the water. We were lucky to be visiting when flocks of swans were migrating to the lake for winter. I will certainly stay here again if possible on my next return to Alaska. Thank you, Brenda and Bob, for a lovely, private and peaceful two weeks with my daughter. 😊"
