  • Peaceful, Relaxing, and Quiet... Exceeded Expectations!

"We intensively investigate properties before we rent any vacation residence. Usually we hit pay dirt. This cottage was no exception. The open view of the river, the well-appointed living space, and cottage's tranquility made the stay one of the highlights of our trip. We even met the owner's sister, Kathleen was is a renowned Native American artist. Her work is featured at the Museum of the North. Thanks for making the chalet more than we had ever imaged."

  • Simple, nice cabin

"We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The property manager was responsive to supplying some basic kitchen wares which were needed. Not a riverfront property but we did not anticipate having a view of the Kenai River. It was very handy to have the washer and dryer for a one week stay."

  • Great time at a wonderful lodge

"We were very pleased with our stay at the King Salmon Log Home at Serenity Lodge. The setting was beautiful. The lodge is well maintained and has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The lake is awesome as well. My extended family, all ten of us, were pleasantly surprised by many things. To begin with, Katie and Elizabeth were very helpful in getting me information about activities in the area. I relied on Katie almost exclusively in planning my trip and she was right on target in all of her recommendations. Secondly, we very much appreciated the attention to detail at the lodge. Everything we could have needed was there. They have several freezers for fish. They had canoes and a paddleboat for the lake. Most importantly, they got all the little things right. I did not have to worry about paper products, linens, dishes, (they even had a slow cooker) or coffee. They even had marshmallow sticks, newspaper for starting the fire and wood a plenty. The beds were very comfortable and the heavy shades on the windows made it easy to sleep in the land of the midnight sun. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting the area. It was ideally situated for fishing, sightseeing in Homer and Seward and doing the glacier boat tour of the Kenai fjords. We had a great time. It was the trip of a lifetime."

  • The Best of Girdwood

"Nestled on a quiet street a few blocks from the Alyeska Resort, this home had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths that would be comfortable for 6, thought it was only 4 of us. We saw black bear several days from the cabin, and were able to access all of the area quickly from this location: Anchorage is about 45 minutes away, Whittier is 45 minutes the other way, and Seward is a short 2+ hour drive through some of the prettiest scenery imaginable. . Thea (the owner) was more than helpful and there were brochures and other highlights in the cabin. The morning view from the front room is incredible. A must do is the Alyeska Tram which is located not 10 minutes away. When it's clear on the mountain you can see for miles. The local restaurants were always full, but the Double Musky was a standout. Be sure and try that one. There's a "general store" in Girdwood, but the prices reflect the sole source; plan on stocking up at a WalMart in Anchorage. There were several ski lifts within minutes of the cabin, but we went in the summer and didn't use those facilities. Our trip was a bucket list item and will be an enjoyable memory for years to come, so you too need to stay at the Best of Girdwood."
