  • Good value for the price

"The cabin was basic but had all the essentials. Several blankets and quilts are provided, which was appreciated. There is also a small wall heater in the unit, but the cabin was cold each morning during my late September stay. Otherwise everything was great."

  • A place of beauty and peace

"We loved staying in the cabin. It was so incredibly peaceful. Wished we had more time there. Would highly recommend this property. Lori and Rick, St. Albert, Alberta"

  • Great place to stay in Talkeetna

"My wife and I stayed at the Mountain House along with our friends who have four small children. The house is beautiful and has great views of the Alaska Range mountains. It was well stocked with cooking utensils, sheets & towels, soap & shampoo, coffee & creamer, and several condiments. The owner is very friendly and was eager to make sure our visit was an enjoyable one. Her husband also has several pictures and artifacts displayed from a long career in mountain climbing and this is a great touch to the decor! The quaint village of Talkeetna is only a ten minute drive away and there were several gift shops, restaurants, and vendors selling merchandise. You can also book aircraft, watercraft and ATV tours and several businesses are available to choose from. We definitely plan to return to the area and would book this property again!"

  • Cozy Talkeetna Cabin

"We were instantly impressed when we walked into the Hale Kōlea Cabin. We felt like we were home. There is more than enough room in this cozy cabin to spread out and enjoy this beautiful space. And where else can you stay where Hawaiian chocolates are waiting for you on the table and Hawaiian coffee is ready to be consumed in the morning?? Even though the cabin is situated in a neighborhood just outside of town we still found town to be within walking distance for us. I hope we have the opportunity to stay here again! Thank you, Richard for calling and answering the questions that I had. And thanks, Jolene, for welcoming us on the day we arrived. The only suggestion I can make to future guests is to make sure and pack a pair of bedroom shoes. It is a custom in AK to remove your shoes when entering a home. You don't want your feet to get chilly in the evenings!"
