  • Father/Son vacation

"Extremely well kept cabin. Very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for day trips for hikes and fishing. Being on the river, dinner is just a cast away with the basic fishing gear provided in the cabin. The only reason for not giving the property a five star rating is the lack of information on the location of the second bedroom. We did not expect the second bed/bath to be an extension of the back of the under house garage. Although the second bed/bath was clean and comfortable it was not detailed by location in the advertisement. With that said it would not deter me form staying here again. The owners were very upfront and accommodating. The care person for the property was extremely nice. We even met one of the neighbors and went with him on a float trip down the Kenai. One or the high lights of the stay. I would certainly recommend this location for a quite getaway and a base of operation to Seward, Kenai and even Homer. Local restaurant named Sackettes had decent pizza and a bar. Thanks for making this property available for our first Father/Son vacation."

  • Lovely, friendly log cabin: really home away from home!

"We've stayed here for a whole month and what a great joy it has been to be here in this lovely, well looked after log cabin! We've felt at home from the first moment. Everything you could possibly want or need was here and everywhere nice personal touches could be found. The pictures in the cabin are awesome: I would gladly have some of them in my own house ;) The cabin is in a perfect spot for trips to Seward, Whittier and of course Anchorage but Eagle River has all the shops you might need. We looked after the grass and the flowers, which added to the 'at home'-feeling and enjoyed sitting and eating on the deck. John came by weekly to look after the garbage, so no worries there for us, which was nice. All in all: we've thoroughly enjoyed staying here and will gladly come again!"

  • So glad I didn't get a hotel

"I just cannot not say enough about our stay here at Sprucecot. I fell so in love with this rustic log home. We had 6 people in our party. As soon as I opened the door I felt like is was in my own home. Perfect everything....bedrooms, bathrooms, sleeping areas, washer, dryer etc....all the amenities you could ask for. The location was perfect. If I return to Sitka again, I will surely try to reserve this home. Our only disappointment was that we did not get to meet the owner Judy, maybe next time. Thank you so much for allowing us into your home. Us older kids 50+ loved the swing!"

  • Great Place

"So happy to have found this place. Communication with Jodi was easy and prompt. Property was very clean and well equipped. We used to gas grill and had everything we needed to prepare dinner. Its within easy walking distance of the Sea Life Center and downtown Seward. Awesome view of Resurrection Bay and surrounding mountains from the kitchen window and balcony. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Seward."
