  • Family time in a beautiful cabin!

"The cabin, really a big house, was the perfect setting for our family Thanksgiving! We brought Thanksgiving to my son at NAU and wanted a special place to enjoy our holiday together with my parents and 2 sons. The Lone Elk Lodge was indeed the perfect cabin! The kitchen was large and very well stocked, the kitchen nook and large dining tables provided excellent places to enjoy our meals, the bedrooms were wonderful, spread out and with the most comfortable blankets and pillows! Every morning I woke early to sip my coffee in the sun room enjoying the view of the snow capped mountains. The private setting, surrounded by trees and nature was the perfect backdrop to unwind and rejuvenate! My son who joined us from NAU felt like he too was on vacation! When part of our group watched football upstairs in the den, and the other part was downstairs cooking and reading, it was nice to have all of the space to do our own thing in peace! The whole experience from asking questions about how the cabin was stocked to the instructions on entering and leaving the cabin were professional and clear. The cabin is set in a neighborhood of beautiful cabins, feels like you are really away from the city, yet is a mere 5-10 minute drive to everything. To sum it all up, the cabin, decorations, couches, beds and setting were all of the highest quality, with the nicest touches, so I recommend this as your next family destination getaway!"

  • Excellent spot for many adventures PLUS a home to come home to....

"If you're looking for posh, get a hotel; if you're looking for a home, rent this spot! We loved this place. Only 2 of us (adults, 50-somethings), and we found it to be a perfect home-away-from-home during a short visit to Arizona. The master bedroom bed was divine--I didn't even miss my own King bed at home because this one was so comfy and wonderful. Location was ideal for a number of forays to local and other sights: we went to Grand Canyon, to Sedona, to the local Buffalo Park, and even to the nearby casino! The home was very well-stocked, sparkly clean, and extremely comfortable. Yes the place screams 1970s in terms of decor and finishes but from my perspective and stay here that is a real plus--it feels like a real home!! Communication with the owner (Joy) was great. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, because from the moment I walked in, it felt like home--HOME, and not some fancy hotel room that looks like every other room on the floor. For us, that made all the difference in the world."

  • Awesome Place

"We came up from Gilbert for a long 3 day Memorial Weekend baseball tournament. We shared the cabin with 2 families for a total of 14 people. We felt so comfortable, plenty of space. The cabin was stocked for all our needs. The view and massive windows were amazing. Star gazing off the deck was fantastic. The hot tub was an added bonus. We had such an amazing time, no one wanted to leave. We are already talking about our next time we can book. Can't wait. Also, Jim was fantastic to work with."

  • Great cabin in the woods!

"We had a great time visiting Flagstaff and this rental home is wonderful! We were greeted the first evening by 3 deer in the backyard and the next morning an entire heard of elk were visiting a nearby farm. My kids loved the beautiful deck (and of course the hammock); what a beautiful view and quiet place to enjoy a good read. The kids also loved the loft; they thought the view was amazing and loved having a TV in their room. The house if fully equipped with everything from pots and pans to a blow dryer and lots of throw blankets for the cold mornings. It's a great location; far enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown but not too far to enjoy the restaurants. This cabin is the perfect place a ski vacation as it's just across the road from the Snowbowl entrance. We hope to visit again!"
