  • Private and comfortable retreat

"My husband and I spent 3 days at the ranch and were very comfortable. The house was charming and easy to relax in. The kitchen is equipped with about all you would need. The bed is very comfy. We loved sitting on the front porch in the afternoon and sunning in the back yard. We also hiked the property and enjoyed the scenery. The hot air balloons came over the house every morning. Lots of books and movies to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back again. Thank you!"

  • Exactly What We Needed!

"My parents live in the Verde Valley and we make the trip out each year to visit them. I am always looking for a place to stay that won't bust our budget, but still gives us a place to spread out little. We have a teen and a 4 year old, so it's nice to have separate bedrooms so the teen can sleep in and the preschooler can be put down for a nap, etc. It's also great to have a kitchen, so that I can host for dinner and my mother doesn't end up doing all the cooking. Anyway, this rental is just perfect for us - economical, spacious, back yard for the little one to run around in and the property is close to the relatives we've come to visit. Like I said, exactly what we needed. The owner response was also very prompt and professional. We would gladly rent this property again if it is available at our next visit."

  • Total and absolute perfection!

"Only superlatives can properly describe this lovely, elegantly comfortable home. The owners obviously have settled for nothing less than perfection in furnishing the place, both inside and out. I had the good fortune to stay there for 5 weeks in June and July, 2016, and enjoyed every moment. My days would usually start with breakfast on the front patio, while the sun rose and the birds hopped and twittered in the hedges. Often I took a hike on one of the many trails which I could access without my needing to drive. And the hikes, just like the windows in the house and the veranda upstairs, all offered breathtaking views of magical Cathedral Rock. One of my fondest memories is of a thunderstorm over the Rock, when she was crowned in a diamond tiara of lightning. Some days I happily hung out at the house, reading in the comfortable chairs, cooking in the perfectly appointed kitchen, drinking in the light show on Cathedral Rock as the sun moved across the sky and the clouds did their constant shape-shifting dance. Such peace and tranquility! My favorite evening activity was to sit on the veranda, sip something cool and watch the colors of the Rock cycle thru a breathtaking gamut of oranges and reds. The nightly silence was only broken by the drum role of thunder or perhaps the songs of the local coyote chorus. Other days I drove into "town," or West Sedona, which offered everything that I needed-two movie theaters; two gyms; an award-winning public library which offered classes and concerts; several yoga studios, (7 Centers is my favorite); 4 grocery stores; art galleries and mystical Sedona specialty shops galore; and amenities such as a computer repair clinic and a friendly, knowledgeable mechanic. All of this was less than 10 minutes by car. No two trips were the same, set as they were against the backdrop of the ever changing light on Sedona's justly famous red rocks. An added treat was the helpfulness and easy accessibility of the management company for a few minor problem that came up. And the perfect finishing touch was the friendliness and attentiveness of Florene, the owner, who shared ideas on things to do that were off the beaten path and regaled me with stories of native American traditions relevant to the house and area. All in all, I felt that I was staying in the home of a kind, generous friend; I hope to return to 25 Zane Gray Lane for many years to come."

  • Long summer weekend in the Blue Moon Cottage

"We were fortunate to have an opportunity to stay three nights in Leigh's Blue Moon Cottage in Jerome. Although the cottage is essentially within walking distance to downtown its location on the mountain provides the feel of remoteness and an unobstructed view of the valley. The cottage is wonderfully decorated in a fun way that creates a very comfortable environment. Leigh had provided some essential items such as coffee, orange juice, English muffins, jam, cream cheese and sundry other items. We were late arriving Thursday night but she did not complain although we kept her on the phone about 20 minutes getting directions while driving from Cottonwood to Jerome and met us close to the cottage. We followed her a few blocks and she gave us an orientation of the cottage and tips regarding restaurants and the most important sights. During our relatively short stay when we were not just relaxing and enjoying the serenity of the cottage, we hiked trails near Jerome, Cottonwood and North of Sedona; kayaked the Verdes; picnicked by and swam in the Verdes River and Oak Creek by ourselves all including our constant companion, my friend's dog, Dierks Bentley; explored downtown Jerome (great breakfast and dinner places and we got to sit in the Jerome fire truck with our dog while the fireman took our pictures) and Cottonwood and had massages while Dierks was groomed in Sedona. Dinner at Asylum was fun. We ate outside then took a tour of the hotel; Dierks must have seen the ghost cat because he wanted to run out of there. The Bootlegger bar in Cottonwood was fun; Christy and Dierks danced and the locals had a good show. For a couple interested in a romantic stay in a very charming, historic mountain town the Blue Moon Cottage is ideal and the owner, Leigh, is very accommodating and friendly. A visit to her downtown clothing store to see her clothing and quilt designs is a must as well. One caution: don't drink too much wine while relaxing on the front porch, leave your phone and keys in the house and manage to lock yourself out. After laughing for awhile at ourselves and no way to call anyone or drive anywhere I was able to get Christy on my shoulders, push her up high on the post while standing on a chair in the dark and she climbed the rest of the way onto the back deck. Fortunately, that door was unlocked. Overall our long weekend in Jerome was a perfect mix of adventure, fun, good memories and time for relaxation. Mike and Christy Phoenix"
