  • A great stay

"What a wonderful stay. We could sit out on that porch swing for days. The home was incredibly clean and comfortable right down to the fancy soaps. The owner was really responsive. Even the internet was great. :-) Would stay again, without a doubt."

  • Beautiful and serene getaway

"We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The home had everything we needed. The finishes and decor were perfect. The kitchen was very well appointed and allowed us to cook for our families with ease! We really enjoyed spending the days on the deck enjoying the weather and amazing views. After dinner we all spent time under the stars sitting by the fire. We will come back next year with family and friends."

  • 50s Charm!

"I rented this sweet little place for a too-brief stay and was overwhelmed with its' old-school charm. I have always loved being up "on the Rim" at Tonto Creek -- since I was a kid. This place brought me back to my childhood as I marveled at the period touches, and this cabin was very comfy too! It has a beautiful wood-burning fireplace, a great little kitchen-living area with comfy chairs and sofas, and the bed I chose to sleep in upstairs (it was just me this trip) was very comfortable. I loved the covered flagstone deck/bar-b-que area where I could sit and watch the beautiful creek below. Listening to that creek night and day was so relaxing. I was impressed at how clean and ready-to-use the cabin was when I arrived. Don't be discouraged by the green shag carpet -- it has been very well maintained and is very clean and soft. It also adds to the vibe of the place, which has been kept neat-as-a-pin! This cabin sits on a really good-size lot ON the creek, and because of that it was very peaceful. Because I had Verizon for my cell service I was able to get email and phone calls and to make outgoing calls, and there is also a landline in the cabin. I had everything I needed to cook, and the stove and oven worked great. In addition to the two fridges, there was also a toaster, toaster oven, real drip coffee maker, and microwave. Lots of great movies were available to watch on the flatscreen tv, and there were some good cds to play as well on the cd player. I really really enjoyed staying here -- I relaxed, I felt safe (alarm system!), and I was so comfy. The owner, Mr. Durham, was so helpful and responsive. I can't wait to come up again soon."

  • Gets Better Every Time

"This is our second time staying at Dead Mule Ranch and it just keeps getting better! My boyfriend and I flew in from LA and Boston respectively to stay at DMR this year so you know it must be something special. The easily accessible National Forest gave us a nice break from our busy lives and the relaxing setting makes it easy to forget about the stresses of every day life. As many people have said Gino and Django are some of the highlights of staying at DMR, and we look forward to bringing our husky back next time. My favorite parts include the wrap around porch to watch the thunderstorms, the cozy fireplace, and the occasional surprise visit from Django. We will be back again next year! Jess, Scott, and Mila"
