  • Family fun!

"We chose the perfect weekend to head to the mountains as it was record heat in Tucson! This place was comfortable, clean and roomy! We enjoyed the layout. It served our family well. We were slightly disappointed that you could not get to the creek because of the vegetation. We understand that there are many laws regulating the shoreline, but felt it was a bit misleading for current conditions. There was a pretty easy path up to the dam that we used to do a bit of fishing. We utilized the private lake, although on the last day we had a patrol advise us that we had actually been entering in the wrong area. You need to go over by the docks. We caught some channel catfish and blue gill. We watched a gentleman catch a 6+ lb bass from his boat just offshore. Whether enjoying our morning cup of coffee, watching the sunsets or playing games with the family, the atmosphere from the deck was very peaceful. This place is a bit off the regular White Mountains beaten path, but for us not too inconvenient. We drove the 20-some minutes into Lakeside-Pinetop everyday to enjoy the hiking trails and amenities. Red House Pizza, the neighborhood pizza place is wonderful! Food was great! The owners are so friendly and service fantastic. Made us feel like we were their neighbors too. Nancy and LeRoy definitely take care of their home and handled any issues we needed addressed. All and all, a very pleasant experience!"

  • Another year, another great stay at little red.

"This has been our second stay at little red and we enjoyed it as much as the first (maybe a little more given the TV upgrade). The best wa to describe a stay at little red is this: turn off the phone, sit back, and relax. It's a great location only 30 or so minutes from Snowflake/Taylor. The souroundings are quiet. And the weather has been cool (80's at the highest)."

  • This Property Far Exceeded My Expectations, As Did The Service & Follow-Up By Ms. Ruggard

"My family and our friends recently stayed at the Shaggy Bark property in Torreon and it was simply amazing. We had some kids with us, so naturally they were excited to see the theatre room with the big screen, and play pool. Well I can tell you this, it did not disappoint them. They played pool, watched tv, listened to the stereo, they played pingpong, foosball and well basically slept in that room and the downstairs. It was great for them. For us, we enjoyed sitting on the upstairs deck and enjoying the tabletop fire and the views. I was incredibly impressed by all the little nuances that the owners thought of that made life easier and just like home. Any cookware we needed, gas stove, coffee maker, plus a garage full of tools for when I needed to fix my snowboard binding. The downstairs bathroom had a sauna that my family got to enjoy, and I soaked in a big claw foot type bathtub and read a book after a long day on the slopes. Plenty of wood for the fireplace was provided, a bbq grill which we enjoyed, and amazing features like heated floors and an epic copper basin in the kitchen made me not want to go home. The property was very clean and well maintained. Sheets and pillows were clean and smelled wonderful and the mattresses were very comfortable. Stacey provides a map of the Torreon roads and be sure to keep it in the car for the first few trips out cause it can be a bit confusing. Lots of turns in there and it all kind of looks the same. (may have just been me tho). We also went to the clubhouse and enjoyed the massive hot tub. Even did a little polar bear club jump into the adjacent pool, then back into the hot tub. Incredible! All in all, we would love to go back and in all likelihood, will be doing so this fall. The pictures and description just don't quite do it justice. Truly breathtaking home and an incredible vacation for our family. Cheers~"
