  • Probably the Best in Phoenix

"My wife and I were moving from the Phoenix suburbs to the Phoenix downtown area and we needed a place to stay for a couple months while we were in between homes. We consider ourselves lucky to have found Linda's guesthouse on VRBO. It is a hip, contemporary house located in one of the most beautiful historic neighborhoods in Phoenix. The grounds surrounding the guesthouse are amazing with plenty of bushes, shrubs and large shade trees, something to be appreciated here in the desert. Linda provides everything you'll need for your stay and is a wonderful host. She's there when you need her, but gives you all the privacy you need. The private exercise room is well-equipped. Large screen TVs in the living room and bedroom are both hi-def. The bed is super comfortable. There's a library with a wide variety of books and DVDs. And the kitchen has everything you will need, but with all the great restaurants and bars in the downtown area, why bother cooking? We considered a lot of vacation properties and short-term rentals for our 2-month adventure, but nothing else came close to having the location and amenities of Linda’s guesthouse. We really did end up with the best vacation home in town!"

  • Almost perfect!

"My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. I first want to preface this by saying we should have been doing the home rental thing a long time ago. But now that we are here we will never leave. The hotel industry isn't going anywhere but for stays longer than 3 nights this really is the way to go. All correspondence with the guys was timely and greatly appreciated. The house is very nice and comfortable. Every time I sat on the leather couch I wanted to fall asleep but hey that's what vacation is for right. Every thing you need is there , you only need to make your food shopping trip and you're set. The house was clean and well maintained. Our only issue with the house is something I brought up with the owner after our stay was the abundance of light in primarily the master bedroom and secondly the living room. In the bedroom there is a window over top the other window which is covered by the blinds. When the sun rises at 5:30am our sleep is over. We are early risers but not that early. Those small windows are throughout the house and it became an issue during the day in the living room when trying to watch tv as there is a glare on the screen. The owner said I was the first to bring that to their attention and he will try to come up with a solution. For those who love the abundant sunlight and don't mind the light this place will be perfect for you. The other minor issue is the unique layout of the house. The furniture configuration makes it only really feasible for someone sitting on the sofa to watch the tv in a comfortable position. Sitting on the longer sofa and turning your neck to the left to watch tv isn't ideal. Again, his options are very limited with the lay out of the house. Just an observation. The owner thanked me for my observations."
