  • Awesome family holiday rental!

"What a great time we had at this wonderful house! Our far flung families were able to spend time with our Tucson family in comfort here, with the highlights being the spa/heated pool, the bathrooms in each room, and the open floor plan. The pictures really do not do this place justice. The large kitchen/breakfast/living room areas allow people to have individual conversations, as well as one big one, which was great for Christmas. It's got a huge master in one wing, 3 bedrooms in the other, and a separate casita for the 5th bedroom. The house feels very private, as the houses are few and far between. You're surrounded by desert and are able to see the beautiful Tucson sunsets every night. We all went for walks around the area, seeing javelinas, a coyote and a jackrabbit. Bill was very responsive and made our time there the best it could be. It was our first time at this property, but probably not our last. Highly recommended!"

  • Great house, great location!

"The house was nicely decorated and large enough for my family and my parents. The kitchen was well stocked the only thing we ran out of was paper towels. The patio was very nice but we did have to spend time on the first day cleaning off the dust and spider webs off all the chairs and table. We didn't pay to heat the pool and I would recommend doing that if you want to swim the pool was too cold for any of us to swim. The hot tub was supposed to be 102 degrees once it's turned on for 40 min. but it never got above 82 degrees. We had really hoped to spend time in the water so that was a little disappointing. Overall the house fit our needs and if you pay to heat the pool it would be a great place to enjoy the sun. It's very close to the Ritz Carlton at Dove Mt. I would recommend staying here."

  • Lovely, relaxing vacation

"Everything noted by earlier reviewers is true! This is a lovely home in a magical setting. It’s decorated wonderfully, and fully equipped. The kitchen is the best equipped that we’ve ever found in a VRBO. The location is perfect - away from congestion, but close enough to get places. It’s a reasonable drive to downtown Tucson, or to the Sonora Desert Museum, for example. Quarry Pines golf course nearby is recommended for golfers. We enjoyed a great vacation here: wine on the deck at sunset; coffee in the morning at sunrise; a few dinners out; a lot of local sightseeing; and much, much relaxation."

  • It's a wowser!!

"The casita, the location, Claire and Larry, and the setting are simply wonderful. How wonderful? The acid test: We have already made our reservation to return next year and for a longer stay. Set against the Tortelino Mountains, with the Santa Catalinas, the Santa Ritas, the Rincon and the Tucson mountains on the horizon you cannot find a better place to be. There is a 2 mile walking loop through the desert, starting at the front door. Within 10 minutes we were at the trail head in the Tortelinos, and within 15 minutes at one of the trailheads in the Santa Catalinas. The tennis court is right outside the backdoor. Downtown Tucson is 25 minutes away. In 5 minutes you can be at a first rate supermarket. Sitting on the patio, we spotted 27 species of birds, many rabbits and lizards. Javelinas and deer and who knows what else are in the wilds nearby should you wish to seek them out. Cactus is in abundance. Claire and Larry are gracious and always ready to help if needed. Their house is situated so you and they have complete privacy. The casita is very comfortable, informal , and had almost everything we needed to make our stay very, very pleasant. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are great. Having the guest bedrooms and bath off a separate hallway of the casita gave us and our visitor’s their own space. We just loved the place and our stay."
