  • So Very Private!!!

"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this home for 10 days in November. The house exceeded our expectations. The master bedroom was very large and had direct access to a separate deck as well as a direct set of stairs to the outdoor pool. You are perched on the side of the mountain and while you can see your neighbor's rooftops if you wish, they cannot see you at any point outside the house. The house is well maintained, secure, and nicely appointed. We wish we could have stayed longer. The Wifi was excellent throughout the entire place, all the TVs had DirectTV, and there are three different control panels for heating/cooling. This meant that we could cool one part of the house without having to turn on AC in parts that simply didn't need it. The three bedrooms had excellent beds, linens, pillows etc. There were two spa robes in each of the three closets (for a total of 6 robes) so that you could enjoy the sunrise in the morning while still in your PJs!! I didn't want to write this review.....I don't want anyone else to discover this magical jewel in Ventana Canyon!!!"

  • Convenient location and wonderful amenities

"Where to begin? The townhouse is located within easy drives to downtown Tucson as well as many local attractions. The Rillito Loop is directly behind the house, offering exploration opportunities for the bicyclist and hiker. The house itself offers terrific Catalina Mountain views and is well equipped. The quiet street is set off from Country Club Road, so there is no traffic noise whatsoever. The Rio Vista Nature area is an easy 2 block walk from the house. The Jacuzzi and pool offer relief from the warmer area temps."

  • Fantastic stay in an straight-out-of-a-magazine mid century architectural gem

"We had a wonderful stay with our family of 6 (4 adults / 2 kids 7 & 11). The vibe of the house was excellent - we loved the architecture, floor to ceiling windows, spacious rooms, and great views. We were fortunate to have perfect Tucson hot weather - a nice relief from the East Coast chill. The deck was nice to spend time out on, and the pool area was perfect for us - nice chairs and umbrellas under a cloudless sky. And pool time was great - we went in several times per day with the pool heated. Plenty of pool toys and lots and lots of towels which let us avoid having to constantly do laundry. The mid-century decor was perfect down to the details - Eames chairs and a great double-sized built in sofa in a living room with plenty of room for all of us to hang out. We loved the aesthetic of the desert landscaping and our kids got a kick out of seeing a few lizards scurrying around. The Foothills area where the house is located is a beautiful area not too far from everywhere. First time back in Tucson since college in the 90s, and the town has really grown and developed significantly. Excellent food shopping nearby down the road from the house at Bashas, and nice spa luxuriating at the Spa at Lowe's Ventana Canyon. Loved brunch at Prep & Pastry (hip & tasty). Downtown has grown in a major way - we enjoyed grilled cheese on an inside out donut with local beers and craft whiskey at Batch, yummy Poke and creative sushi at Obon, and a fun visit to the legendary Hotel Congress. Real deal Mexican Food at BK, and an enjoyable breezy night game of UofA Softball on campus. And oh yeah: In-N-Out Burger - because Double Double [Protein Style] (undeniable). Nice treats in the fridge upon arrival, and small house requests were easily and quickly fulfilled by Anne. We'd be happy to come back again!"

  • 5 Star, Thumbs UP property

"Staying at this home in the NE Catalina Foothills parallels other properties owned by Rita Jann where I have visited: the retreat facility, La Tierra Sagrada, in Baja and The Park at Crystal Springs on the Applegate River in Oregon and The Light House in Sedona, AZ. All of these places have been amazing. This Sabino Canyon home has been another exquisite place to take in Rita Jann’s superb ability to make you feel right at home. She has done it again and you can always count on her to put together the best. Every place has been different and every place has given me such great delight. The experience has been beyond words. I highly recommend her home in Tucson and hope to come back again and again. I love being so close to the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. Every morning, I go for my morning run in the Canyon. It is a lovely area for running, hiking and just strolling along taking in all the beauty. It is quiet and peaceful.. It feels like I have a huge park that goes for miles and miles. I like coming back to this beautiful home to enjoy my breakfast out on the patio. It is so comfortable, so cozy. I often go to different areas around Tucson, everything is so easily accessible. In the evenings there is always live music somewhere. All in all, this home is perfect, the location is the best and I have enjoyed every minute living here. The furnishings and decor are lovely, the beds are super comfortable, the linens are excellent and the kitchen is well equipped. I could not of asked for anything more, except more time to be here. Thank you so much, Rita Jann, for creating another great place to come to and enjoy. You have a magical talent for creating beauty where ever you go and I am thrilled to have this home on my list as one of my all time favorite places. I look forward to coming back"
