  • Beautiful house with scenic views

"Our family (me, my wife, 3 teenagers and an 11 year old) stayed here in April. The booking process was easy and the communication from the owner prior to arrival was excellent. Strom met us at the house when we arrived to show us around. When he was showing us the place, he noticed that the cushions on a couple of the pool lounge chairs were ripped. He immediately went to the store and got new ones for us. He also gave us some suggestions about things to do in the area. The house is located in the foothills above Tucson in a gated community. It is very quiet. There's little traffic and no noise from the neighbors. All you really here are the sounds of nature. There's a large plot of undeveloped land next to the pool filled with cacti and other desert plants. The views from the house and from the pool area are awesome. You can look out and see the city of Tucson and the surrounding mountains. At night the view is even more impressive with all the city lights. The house is large and comfortable. There are three bedrooms each with a king sized bed and each has it's own bathroom. There is also a half bathroom by the kitchen. The living room furniture is comfortable (and has that gorgeous view of the city). There is also access to netflix in the living room and the master bedroom which is nice when you're with 4 kids. Our boys also enjoyed playing bumper pool. The kitchen has lots of space and is fully stocked with cooking equipment. We had everything we needed and more. There's pots and pans, a blender, dishwasher, and even a crock pot. There is also a large outdoor gas grill which we used a lot. The real highlight of the house is the patio/pool area. It's very big. There are three tables out there. One next to the house that seats 6 (we ate most of our meals here), one that seat 4 by the pool and one that seats 2 next to the hot tub. You'll have plenty of room. There are lots of lounge chairs if you want to relax by the pool. The pool and hot tub are both great. The heating for both is controlled with an ipad in the house. It was nice to spend the day on activities and then come back to enjoy the pool in the heat of midday. In the evening we would sit in the hot tub and look at the stars. My only wish would be for the pool and hot tub to have lights. In summary, it's a great place to vacation. I'd highly recommend it. If we are ever back in Tucson I'd stay here again."

  • Lovely Southwestern Style Home for our Delighted Family

"From the moment we Midwesterners walked in, this home was our true oasis in the desert. Impeccably decorated and furnished with bright colors and lovely combinations, AND a view of the mountains out the back! Nice newer gated community neighborhood with walls between homes. We are nature lovers and this home was centrally located for all of our outdoor Tucson area adventures. Also has its own birdfeeder which we enjoyed filling and watching birds. So nice to go for a good long hike in Sabino Canyon and then go "home" and soak in the hot tub. Furnishings seem very new and clean. The beds were comfortable and the linens soft and plentiful. Lots of towels, too, and a washer dryer were so nice to have access to. Owner Debra Ashton was very easy to contact, responsive to our needs, and got back to us right away with questions. She thinks of every little thing (ie small mosaic dishes for jewelry etc next to the bed and in bathroom!)and made us feel super welcome with the BIG welcome basket stuffed full of goodies. She also recommended several area restaurants that were especially yummy. Plenty of space in kitchen and seating at barstools, table, or outside table. Drank my coffee on back patio... This place was better than some Homeway rentals because she starts you off with a small supply of basics, so no late night trips to the store for essentials like toilet paper after a long day of traveling. Really appreciated that! Master bedroom is quite large and had its own tv so Mom could watch HGTV while the guys watched sports in living room. Wifi worked great and also used DVD player to watch our purchased movie "Tombstone" before a daytrip to that town. Debra also has a selection of movies and books for use. Master bath clean and had double sinks and two large closets, plenty of storage. Second bathroom also clean and nice for a family to have. We would definitely would recommend this place to friends!!"

  • Lovely Casita, Very Comfortable!

"I so much enjoyed staying at the casita; it is so charming! Although it seemed far from things at first, I quickly found it is just a short drive to most everything needed. I loved having the paved pathway at nearby McDonald park to walk for rehab from surgery. The area itself is perfect for walking, peace, quiet, and relaxation or for hiking, biking! I stayed here for an entire month and could not have found a more perfect place! The owners are helpful but unobtrusive, responded promptly to minor issues (battery for the fire alarm). Nice comfortable beds with sumptuous bedding! Washer and dryer in the unit, single car garage, private patio, hot tub. Bountiful wildlife in the area that can be viewed from within the casita. All made my stay very pleasant! I also want to mention how nice it was to come into a short term rental that is so carefully presented. I've stayed in more than one VRBO rental where opened food items were left in the refrigerator and cupboards: Expired salad dressings and pancake mixes, opened boxes of pasta, carry out bowls in the cupboard with the dishes. In comparison, this casita is well equipped and also refreshingly clean and classy."

  • Clean and Quiet

"My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at La Lupita. We were greeted with a bowl of fruit and a jar of honey! It was a thoughtful gesture we appreciated. If you like the outdoors this is the perfect staging place for your adventures in and around Sabino Canyon, including Saguaro National Park! Very clean and quiet. We would definitely stay there again."
