  • An oasis in the desert

"We just returned from a three week stay in Tucson at Caliente Creek Ranch. Located in the northeast section of Tucson, on a gated five acre private property, with stupendous views of the four mountain range surrounding Tucson, it was safe, secure, quiet... perfect for us two in our late sixties. We had to drive to everything but that didn't matter as Tucson is very spread out and anywhere you were you most likely would have to drive. We could walk less than 1/4 mi to back entrance of Agua Caliente Park across the street from the property's 1/10 mi long driveway, we could bike to the Safeway 6 mi away. 49er Golf Course was less than 5 mi away (cheap after 200 pm), two different hiking trails within Saguaro NP East were less than 20 min drive (one entrance off Tanque Verde Rd and the other off Broadway). The owners were lovely people and had a dog named Jack who was so friendly we coud take him for walks (his fave spot is the Caliente Creek and the wash behind the property) and he visited us frequently. The cottage is attached to the owner's house/residence yet we felt quite removed. The owners welcomed us with a bottle of wine and when we left they presented us with a goody bag of water, candy, grapes and cookies for our long journey home!! Barbara and Joe are kind, welcoming and willing to help us with whatever we needed (suggestions about trails, golf courses, restaurants, movie theatres, etc.). Very pleased with our choice of place to stay for three weeks. Wifi a little spotty at times, plenty of hot water. We enjoyed watching hummingbirds and quail feeding. We saw coyote, roadrunners in the neighborhood. Kitchen well equipped and previous guests left staples for us, as did we when we left. Will need a car unless you are an avid biker (bike lanes and trails everywhere, along with "share the road signs"). Suggested places to visit: Old Tucson movie set, Kitt Peak Observatory, Sabino Canyon hike (get there before 830 am for parking), Pima Air Museum (get there when door opens), dinner at the Arizona Inn... we golfed at 49ers and Rolling Hill GC (very walkable somewhat short course). Thanks to Barbara and Joe for making us feel so welcome!!"

  • Great week in Tucson

"Clean, well appointed with convenient location to Rillito bike trail and Sabino Canyon hiking. Plenty of dishes and silverware. Full size washer and dryer. Garage was a plus for parking our bikes and motorcycles. Bed in master was comfortable with great bathroom and large closet. There would be plenty of room here for a family vacation. The only thing I feel could use some work is the patio furniture. I would definitely stay here again. Owners quickly responded to email questions."

  • A brilliant winter warmer!

"Immaculate throughout, the personal touches, such as scatter cushions and wall pictures, created an instant feeling of being welcome. Exceptionally well-equipped including washing and drying machines, upright fridge/freezer with ice dispenser, full size cooker, microwave oven, coffee maker and dishwasher made the kitchen a dream to use. 3 full double bedrooms with large walk-in closets made for very comfortable sleeping and the 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite to the master) meant no strain on keeping clean and fresh, especially since for some of the time there were 6 adults staying! The outside facilities were excellent, with included use of the gas-fired barbecues located just a few yards from the outside door a great way of making supper! The pool and heated hot tub were close by and very-well maintained and really did enhance our enjoyment of the holiday, being available until 10-00 pm on most days (11-00 pm Friday and Saturday). All in all we cannot recommend Andrea and her lovely apartment highly enough!"
