  • Lovely Stay!

"Our stay in the garden apartment contributed to a fine vacation in Tucson. Our host was gracious and attentive to our needs. The apartment is clean, centrally located and compact with a well appointed kitchen and comfortable bed. The highlight for my husband and me was sitting in the Mediterranean walled garden by the pool each afternoon. It is a place of beauty and serenity. We would recommend this apartment to family and friends and would stay there again ourselves."

  • Living in a Wonderland

"The most fascinating place we've ever stayed. Never a dull moment, the multitude of birds and wildlife kept us entertained daily. I added over 30 new species to my life list, and they were up close and personal. No scanning the treetops with binoculars. They came right to the feeders within feet of the windows and screened porches. The acorn woodpeckers are like cartoon birds, and the hummingbirds were so numerous, we often had 8 or 9 at one feeder. We saw kit foxes and had visits from a coati and collared peccaries. Too many new critters to enumerate here. The house suited us admirably. Bright, clean and simple. Easy to care for and very comfortable. We loved the screened porches, with the 270 degree vistas and wildlife. Flux Canyon is a great place to walk and hike, and only a couple miles to Patagonia for groceries, library, galleries, etc. 18 miles from the border, and Nogales, it's easy to visit Mexico. And of course, it is in the heart of the sky islands, surrounded by other mountain ranges, all fascinating. I guess I can't say enough about what a find this place was and how lucky for us that we were able to rent it for the month of February. I tell folks it was like living in the middle of an aviary."

  • 5 Star, Thumbs UP property

"Staying at this home in the NE Catalina Foothills parallels other properties owned by Rita Jann where I have visited: the retreat facility, La Tierra Sagrada, in Baja and The Park at Crystal Springs on the Applegate River in Oregon and The Light House in Sedona, AZ. All of these places have been amazing. This Sabino Canyon home has been another exquisite place to take in Rita Jann’s superb ability to make you feel right at home. She has done it again and you can always count on her to put together the best. Every place has been different and every place has given me such great delight. The experience has been beyond words. I highly recommend her home in Tucson and hope to come back again and again. I love being so close to the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. Every morning, I go for my morning run in the Canyon. It is a lovely area for running, hiking and just strolling along taking in all the beauty. It is quiet and peaceful.. It feels like I have a huge park that goes for miles and miles. I like coming back to this beautiful home to enjoy my breakfast out on the patio. It is so comfortable, so cozy. I often go to different areas around Tucson, everything is so easily accessible. In the evenings there is always live music somewhere. All in all, this home is perfect, the location is the best and I have enjoyed every minute living here. The furnishings and decor are lovely, the beds are super comfortable, the linens are excellent and the kitchen is well equipped. I could not of asked for anything more, except more time to be here. Thank you so much, Rita Jann, for creating another great place to come to and enjoy. You have a magical talent for creating beauty where ever you go and I am thrilled to have this home on my list as one of my all time favorite places. I look forward to coming back"

  • Delightful Diversion in the Desert

"Mr. McElwaine's deluxe casita at Starr Pass Resort was a wonderful vacation for us for the entire month of June 2016. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway was provided, included a fully furnished kitchen, comfortable living room, tv's in each of the three rooms, and patio with outstanding view of the mountains. The location on the west side of Tucson is very convenient to most of the city and suburbs, and we were downtown or on the interstate in minutes - something you can't say about the other resorts we visited located on the north or east side of town. While wifi is not provided, we took the free Marriott shuttle several times up to the main resort and used the internet in the lobby or Starbucks. We also took advantage daily of the wonderful, large pool and exercise room mere steps from our door. A nice surprise was the appearance of a number of desert animals visible from our patio: javelinas, deer, coyotes, road runners and many types of birds. I appeciate the fact that the designers of the complex tried to leave the desert untouched which allowed the wildlife to exist as always in spite of the development. Dave, the owner, stopped in to check on us during our stay, giving us ideas on where to eat and what to see. His son, who lives in the vicinity, was helpful when there was a problem with the cable tv reception, and the problem was resolved quickly. The monthly charge for this 2 br, 3 ba condo was very competitive for the area and allowed us to enjoy a month here, rather than a week or two which had been our original plan. I would recommend this casita to any one of my friends looking for a long or a short stay in Tucson."
