  • Delightful Diversion in the Desert

"Mr. McElwaine's deluxe casita at Starr Pass Resort was a wonderful vacation for us for the entire month of June 2016. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway was provided, included a fully furnished kitchen, comfortable living room, tv's in each of the three rooms, and patio with outstanding view of the mountains. The location on the west side of Tucson is very convenient to most of the city and suburbs, and we were downtown or on the interstate in minutes - something you can't say about the other resorts we visited located on the north or east side of town. While wifi is not provided, we took the free Marriott shuttle several times up to the main resort and used the internet in the lobby or Starbucks. We also took advantage daily of the wonderful, large pool and exercise room mere steps from our door. A nice surprise was the appearance of a number of desert animals visible from our patio: javelinas, deer, coyotes, road runners and many types of birds. I appeciate the fact that the designers of the complex tried to leave the desert untouched which allowed the wildlife to exist as always in spite of the development. Dave, the owner, stopped in to check on us during our stay, giving us ideas on where to eat and what to see. His son, who lives in the vicinity, was helpful when there was a problem with the cable tv reception, and the problem was resolved quickly. The monthly charge for this 2 br, 3 ba condo was very competitive for the area and allowed us to enjoy a month here, rather than a week or two which had been our original plan. I would recommend this casita to any one of my friends looking for a long or a short stay in Tucson."

  • Comfortable & Convenient

"We were a family of 6 coming to Tucson to celebrate our U of A grad. The house is, as advertised, conveniently located to U of A - about 15 mins. We had plenty of space, enjoyed the beautiful view from the large picture window in the family room, especially the wildlife that came to visit. In the afternoons we were visited by a family of coyotes passing through (not a problem - in fact, kind of fun), hummingbirds, rabbits and lizards. We did not have a chance to meet Nancy & Fe, but they were wonderful hosts, as we had everything we needed."

"Every detail is attended to here. From the well appointed decor to the fabulous local coffee, this was a gem of a place. Bob was personable, professional, welcoming, and engaging. • February/March 2016 Stay

"We highly recommend the rental of this beautiful home. We stayed for two months and have it reserved for two months in 2017. The pictures do not do it justice! It is spacious and very tastefully decorated. The owner was a delight to work with. Great location. Within walking distance to two of Saddlebrooke's clubhouses. Great view of Mt. Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Mountains. Very friendly and welcoming neighbors. Close proximity to many restaurants and shopping. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fabulous place to stay. If a "6" star rating was available, this rental would qualify."
