  • BACK IN TIME

"A senior German couple, we enjoyed the two weeks of our stay and called that place a home - a comfortable one with much charm. You will find many memories of Old Mexico in style and architecture. Therefore the casita is not only a secluded getaway to enjoy a lazy day or a starting point for adventurous hikes into the nearby mountains and the Sonoran desert (beginning with the easy stroll through the fantastic Sonora Desert Museum only a few miles away) but also an inspiring "base camp" from where you can travel back in time: to the reminders of the "Spanish Entrada" (Presidio Tubac, Missions San Xavier del Bac and Tumacacori), to the atmosphere of the Wild West (much more than only visiting the tourist trap of "Old Tucson" nearby), and to so many places where Apache Indians lived their secret lives or lurked for landhungry immigrants, greedy miners or Cavalry patrols, lost in the deserts. Yes, on our last day in the casita we played ourselves "Apache Scout Sentinel" high on the cliffs of two Saguaro studded Beehive buttes in front and behind the Casita. We would be very happy to return to this pittoresque and hospitable spot some day."

  • Loved it, loved it, loved it

"Now that we're settled back into our routine, I wanted to thank you for the wonderful stay we had at your house. It was so pretty and perfect for us. I loved the early mornings and early evenings with the gentle wind blowing, I would open the kitchen windows for a bit and listen to all the birds getting ready for their day or settling in for the evening or we would sit in the yard in the patio area. I enjoyed the little lizards that look like they're doing pushups and the Quails that would quickly run past you. We loved the quiet. We got to learn the roads and how to bypass getting on the interstate whenever possible. We even went to the farmers market downtown by the San Juan. That was fun..food, music, the Arizona pistachios that we love and some delicious honey and a memorable Sonoran sno cone. We went somewhere different every day and loved every minute we were there. We loved coming back to our lavender house in the desert. Again, thank you. This is a beautiful 3 bedroom house on 2 acres of desert property near Saguaro National Park West. It was Easy to navigate into the city. Property is spacious and clean. Very relaxing. Kitchen has everything and more that you could want, as do the linen closets and bathrooms. We would definitely rent this wonderful home again when we are in the area."

  • Loved it !!

"I Loved staying at Fran and Charlie's Place! They are warm and welcoming and it felt like "home away from home". Fran went above and beyond with her treats, hospitality and overall kindness! I felt like I have known her for years! The location is great with easy access to anywhere I wanted to go. I personally like being in an older neighborhood of Tucson, rather than a suburb or new development."

  • Perfect fit for family of six

"I chose this rental because of its perfect design for an extended family of 6; our son, wife and two grand daughters (3 & 7). It has a large center living room and spacious remodeled kitchen, both bedrooms & baths are located on either side of the living room and that provides for a very nice and private layout. My son and wife wanted this Casita because their bedroom had two beds in it, much better when traveling with small children than trying to get them to stay in their own room in a new place. We came in Mid-June for a 3 day event at the JW Marriott, a short 2 min. drive away. The kids played daily in the olympic size pool and made lots of new friends. Being from Hawaii the children and my daughter in law have never seen many animals like squirrels, coyotes, Calif. Quail although we do have pigs in Hawaii that are similar to their cousins the Arizona Javelina's. We got to see all of these beautiful animals right outside the back sliding glass door, it was a wonderful experience for the girls. The kitchen in this rental is better stocked than ours at home, complete with bakeware, tupperware, lots of dishes and lovely glasses. We ate all meals in for the week that we were there and even had two friends that live in Tucson over for a bar-b-que on the last night. The floors throughout the units and patio have all been recently remodeled with lovely new terra-cotta tile and Arizona flagstone, yet again another reason for choosing this one over some of the others with white carpet... The bathroom was large enough to have a party in and the A/C keep us comfortable day and night. Debbie the owner was very easy to deal with and made our stay seamless. Here's to hopping that they have the event at Starr Pass JW Marriott again next year because we would love to come back and stay again. Thanks Debbie for allowing us to stay in your "Starr Pass Casita" it is a little slice of heaven in the middle of the desert."
