  • Lovely Home in Great Area of Tucson

"This home was great for my 6 week stay. It is exactly as portrayed and Eric and Julie are most accommodating if a question arises. It was 90 degrees when I arrived but the home stayed so cool I didn't notice for 3 weeks that I had not yet turned on the air conditioning. Due to my limited mobility, I used the big first floor bedroom and adjoining bath and my guests really loved the 2nd floor master suite. I did go up and check out the upstairs a couple of times but with 2 bedrooms and 2-1/2 bathrooms on the first floor, I was sitting pretty without having to deal with any stairs, just one 3 inch rise between the original and newer wings of the house, which was not a problem for me. The home is also furnished interestingly, with pieces from a number of countries. Everything is very pleasant and there are plenty of linens, dishes, kitchen appliances plus really comfortable beds. The central location is ideal for everything you want to do, whether it be national parks, art exhibits or things on the University campus. We did them all. It's a very quiet neighborhood too, yet there are many restaurants nearby, and some very good places to eat among them. The home itself is gated, with plenty of parking in the courtyard. It is a lot of space and Ioved every part of it!"

  • Delightful Diversion in the Desert

"Mr. McElwaine's deluxe casita at Starr Pass Resort was a wonderful vacation for us for the entire month of June 2016. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway was provided, included a fully furnished kitchen, comfortable living room, tv's in each of the three rooms, and patio with outstanding view of the mountains. The location on the west side of Tucson is very convenient to most of the city and suburbs, and we were downtown or on the interstate in minutes - something you can't say about the other resorts we visited located on the north or east side of town. While wifi is not provided, we took the free Marriott shuttle several times up to the main resort and used the internet in the lobby or Starbucks. We also took advantage daily of the wonderful, large pool and exercise room mere steps from our door. A nice surprise was the appearance of a number of desert animals visible from our patio: javelinas, deer, coyotes, road runners and many types of birds. I appeciate the fact that the designers of the complex tried to leave the desert untouched which allowed the wildlife to exist as always in spite of the development. Dave, the owner, stopped in to check on us during our stay, giving us ideas on where to eat and what to see. His son, who lives in the vicinity, was helpful when there was a problem with the cable tv reception, and the problem was resolved quickly. The monthly charge for this 2 br, 3 ba condo was very competitive for the area and allowed us to enjoy a month here, rather than a week or two which had been our original plan. I would recommend this casita to any one of my friends looking for a long or a short stay in Tucson."

  • Loved It!!

"The house was fully stocked. It was pretty clean, and very nice! Only thing that was a let down was that the tv took a while to get going and the pool was out of service the entire trip. Other than that; I absolutely loved it. Think I will never use a hotel again!"

  • Lovely, relaxing vacation

"Everything noted by earlier reviewers is true! This is a lovely home in a magical setting. It’s decorated wonderfully, and fully equipped. The kitchen is the best equipped that we’ve ever found in a VRBO. The location is perfect - away from congestion, but close enough to get places. It’s a reasonable drive to downtown Tucson, or to the Sonora Desert Museum, for example. Quarry Pines golf course nearby is recommended for golfers. We enjoyed a great vacation here: wine on the deck at sunset; coffee in the morning at sunrise; a few dinners out; a lot of local sightseeing; and much, much relaxation."
