  • Living in a Wonderland

"The most fascinating place we've ever stayed. Never a dull moment, the multitude of birds and wildlife kept us entertained daily. I added over 30 new species to my life list, and they were up close and personal. No scanning the treetops with binoculars. They came right to the feeders within feet of the windows and screened porches. The acorn woodpeckers are like cartoon birds, and the hummingbirds were so numerous, we often had 8 or 9 at one feeder. We saw kit foxes and had visits from a coati and collared peccaries. Too many new critters to enumerate here. The house suited us admirably. Bright, clean and simple. Easy to care for and very comfortable. We loved the screened porches, with the 270 degree vistas and wildlife. Flux Canyon is a great place to walk and hike, and only a couple miles to Patagonia for groceries, library, galleries, etc. 18 miles from the border, and Nogales, it's easy to visit Mexico. And of course, it is in the heart of the sky islands, surrounded by other mountain ranges, all fascinating. I guess I can't say enough about what a find this place was and how lucky for us that we were able to rent it for the month of February. I tell folks it was like living in the middle of an aviary."

  • Extraordinary views; beautiful home

"The rental house is beautiful, and perfect for up to two couples, as the two bedrooms, each with a bathroom, are on opposite sides of the house. The fireplace is perfect for cool evenings and draws perfectly; there was no hint of smoke in the house. The owner, Brian, was very easy to contact and made sure we had everything we needed. The best thing about the house, though, is the location. About a 10-minute easy drive north of Patagonia, the main porch of the house faces south, and the views are incredible. The house is perched on a hill and you can see for many miles east, south, and west. The sunrises, sunsets, stargazing, and birdwatching are all terrific right at the house. In addition to the resident Say's Phoebe and house finches, we had broad-billed hummingbirds, black-chinned hummingbirds, grey hawks, and vermillion flycatchers right at the house. Views from the bedrooms are great, too. There are no near neighbors. You can hike right from the house, for birdwatching purposes, and it's less than a half-hour drive to sites for more serious birding and hiking. Madera Canyon is only about an hour away. I cannot imagine any better place to stay in this part of Arizona. I feel very lucky that we found it, and I hope to return again someday."

  • Very convenient and comfortable

"I had the pleasure of staying at this condo for two weeks. If one word can summarize my stay, would be that it was a treat. Very quite and convenient, plus steps away from a trailhead. It was a great introduction to life in Tucson!"

  • Beautiful home, wonderful trip!!

"This property was absolutely wonderful. First of all Amy was great. We had a number of questions and she was always available by phone or text immediately. The property is very well cared for with lovely landscaping. Covered parking right at the condo. Inside the unit is well appointed. Clean with everything you need for a stay. All kitchen pots, pans, utensils, and sharp knives! I know those of you who travel often know what I am talking about. A real bonus was a full size washer and dryer in the unit. Comfortable living room, cable tv. Bedroom big and comfortable and large lovely bathroom. The pool is right around to corner and most of the time we had it to ourselves, however the people we did meet there we very friendly and welcoming. Also a small gym on property for those of us who want to workout. The property is at the base of the Catalina Mountains, so the views from the balcony were quite nice. It is true that you could walk to drugstore, grocery store and some restaurants...but given it was quite warm when we were there we did drive over. We went to Kidd Peak Observatory, drove to the top of Mt. Lemmon. Drove to Tubac and Tumacocori Mission. Went to Green Valley to the Titan Missle Museum.Checked out Saguaro National Park, East. Took a day and drove to Scottsdale to see Frank LLoyd Wright's Taliesen West. There is so much to see and do in the area and a beautiful home to relax in if you don't want to go anywhere. We had the best time and will definitely stay again."
