  • Perfect fit for family of six

"I chose this rental because of its perfect design for an extended family of 6; our son, wife and two grand daughters (3 & 7). It has a large center living room and spacious remodeled kitchen, both bedrooms & baths are located on either side of the living room and that provides for a very nice and private layout. My son and wife wanted this Casita because their bedroom had two beds in it, much better when traveling with small children than trying to get them to stay in their own room in a new place. We came in Mid-June for a 3 day event at the JW Marriott, a short 2 min. drive away. The kids played daily in the olympic size pool and made lots of new friends. Being from Hawaii the children and my daughter in law have never seen many animals like squirrels, coyotes, Calif. Quail although we do have pigs in Hawaii that are similar to their cousins the Arizona Javelina's. We got to see all of these beautiful animals right outside the back sliding glass door, it was a wonderful experience for the girls. The kitchen in this rental is better stocked than ours at home, complete with bakeware, tupperware, lots of dishes and lovely glasses. We ate all meals in for the week that we were there and even had two friends that live in Tucson over for a bar-b-que on the last night. The floors throughout the units and patio have all been recently remodeled with lovely new terra-cotta tile and Arizona flagstone, yet again another reason for choosing this one over some of the others with white carpet... The bathroom was large enough to have a party in and the A/C keep us comfortable day and night. Debbie the owner was very easy to deal with and made our stay seamless. Here's to hopping that they have the event at Starr Pass JW Marriott again next year because we would love to come back and stay again. Thanks Debbie for allowing us to stay in your "Starr Pass Casita" it is a little slice of heaven in the middle of the desert."

  • A level above magnificent

"Casita Luminosa was a superlative sanctuary and refuge for myself and my trusty 4 legged cohort - Cyrus. I've only experienced such an incredible place once or twice in my life. The beauty and tranquility of the desert is highlighted in the very comfortably decorated abode. I was so happy I decided to give Tucson a chance, and beyond grateful that I got to stay in such elegant surroundings. Cynthia is a hostess of the finest order. She is thoughtful, kind, gracious and wonderfully accommodating. I wish there were more people like Cynthia in the world. It would be a much better place. If there were 6 stars, I'd easily give Casita Luminosa the rating. I hope to be able to return soon. And stay for much longer. Thank you for the experience of gracious living. It is a gift I will carry with me for quite some time."

  • Gorgeous home, warm & well designed inside with spectacular views outside

"We enjoyed this home for a week in December, 2016 and I cannot find one flaw. It is beautiful, tasteful and comfortable. The granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and well stocked kitchen made our visit easy to cook in when we wished and eat out when we wanted. The bedroom separation makes it perfect for two couples. The large flat screen tv with Dish worked great the times we used it. Brian was warm, welcoming and helpful. I texted him with a few questions and he replied quickly. He even had red wine for us to kick off our holiday! The views from this hilltop home were dazzling. Watching the hills and mountains reveal themselves as the fog lifted was a treat. The night sky on clear nights likewise was spectacular. I have stayed in many VRBO's and this is my favorite. Thanks Brian, for warmly sharing this home you clearly had built with vision and love."

  • Stunning!

"My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous home for nearly three weeks. We arrived late at night, exhausted after a cross-country move. After we unpacked, I stood outside and saw billions of stars above versus the single star I'd been able to see above the lights of downtown Chicago for years. How wonderful that moment. Then I saw 4 shooting stars. An auspicious beginning! The next morning, the floor to ceiling windows of the living room stunned us with a view of the breathtaking mountains. They reminded me of The Sound of Music. So beautiful. The house was spacious, the kitchen area fabulously roomy. The living room had a large mounted TV screen and fantastic speakers making for a great viewing experience. The rooms were cool, which was great since we were there in August. We did not have an opportunity to use the golf cart and see the Clubhouses, etc. because we were busy setting up our new home, finding doctors for my husband, and so on---but driving in and out of the Saddlebrooke area was -- in certain areas -- almost like being in some fairy tale. It's so beautifully landscaped. Again, really breathtaking. The owners have a simple manual, which explains all you need to know while in the house, with recommendations for the Clubhouse and so forth. This was extremely helpful and easy to follow. Highly recommended."
