  • Perfect for Large Family

"We recently enjoyed a long weekend at Cottontail Creek Ranch with our large family. The ranch is absolutely breathtaking and feels very isolated, even though it is only a short drive to nearby towns. Sadly for us, it rained (extremely unusual for this time of year) and we were unable to use many of the outdoor facilities or go too far from the house, but we made the best of it. The house was spacious and we enjoyed the well equipped kitchen with spectacular views. The upstairs lounge with a fireplace was also a favorite spot for us to gather. We did make great use of the outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows and the hot tub on the upper deck. Susan was wonderful to deal with prior to our visit and was very welcoming on our arrival. She took some of us for a drive up to the top of the mountain to enjoy the breathtaking views to the ocean. Susan was always on hand if we needed her throughout our stay. Miriam and Jose at the ranch were also amazing and helped make our stay very special. The little ones enjoyed feeding the baby cows and seeing the chickens. All of our guests had a wonderful time and we would love to visit again in sunny weather. Highly recommended!"

  • What a wonderful way to spend time away with our children and dogs! Felt right at home from day-one

"We certainly were blessed to be able to find this home of Yule and Laura's. You can tell that they put a lot of time, thoughts and love into this place. All the amenities of being at home, but a great escape from the hustle and bustle. So quiet and peaceful. Open space throughout the home, yet privacy if anyone needed it. Loved the three horses and the fresh-laid eggs from the chickens. Plenty of room for the dogs to roam and close proximity to Trader Joe's for groceries! Only saw one of the kitty's and it was so friendly. Yule and Laura were so gracious to us and there if we needed anything or had questions. Appreciated their advice on beaches to visit and grabbing lunch at Sebastian's near San Simeon Beach. Sitting outside on the deck and peering up at the stars in the evening was a highlight. We made lots of good memories at this Mediterranean Estate and plan on making more here in the future! Thank you again for opening your home to us, Yule and Laura. You have such generous and loving hearts. Rob, Suzanne and family"

  • Guest House gushing

"The Guest House provides a quiet comfortable home base for our family when we visit Central Coast/Paso Robles area. The location is convenient to the varying areas our travels take us. Our most recent trip was the 4th or 5th time we chose Portola Inn. Pictures simply cannot capture the magnificent exterior views, when the sun crests over the hills in the distance. The Inn provides a venue for weddings and other celebrations, and the grounds contain a garden as well as paths and trails that our dogs LOVE. Many of the decorative items throughout the property are 100+ years old, which add to the rural feeling. But, as rural as it seems, the house is about a mile from highway on-ramps and commercial areas, which can come in handy. The proprietors are pleasant people who are there when you need them, and not when you don't. Inside, the open space split between the living room, kitchen, and dining area is more spacious than we really need. All kitchen needs are covered if you want to cook something, and the dining table is large. The bedroom's queen bed is waaaay more comfortable than you expect. The bath entrance is on the hallway, not the bedroom, which is good for larger groups. The full size washer and dryer could also be life-savers, I imagine, although we have never used them. The setting is comfortable, the wifi and all other features work; the house provides everything you could need for a comfortable visit. We will return in 2017!"

  • FABULOUS Home!

"Beautiful home, so well maintained and had everything you could ask for. We have rented several homes over the year and this was by far the nicest we have rented. The owners are SO friendly and certainly have a pride of ownership! We had 4 adults and 2 children under 3, there was plenty of room. The beach access is 2 houses down, the yard is perfect for the kids to play, and the rooms were spacious. We loved our stay and would love to return! Many thanks for the great visit!"
