"Beautiful house with great amenities. Wonderful for large family and many generations. Shower was a little small for tall person and recommend two house keys."

  • Better than we imagined - photos did not do justice.

"We just enjoyed a wonderful 3 days at this property. What a relaxing and wonderful time we all had. Very surprised to have the fabulous TV and wifi coverage, didn't expect that at all. The adult kids were very happy. The condo was very clean and well stocked with towels, sheets, etc. We needed nothing except our clothes and food. The condo was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed including a wine opener, we had forgotten to pack one. The view was spectacular and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean was delightful. We appreciated having beach chairs and fun beach toys for the children. We are already planning our next trip back. Thank you so much for making it possible for us to have a fabulous finish to 2015. Mary K. and family"

  • Beautiful, Well-Appointed, Peaceful Retreat

"I would definitely recommend this rental. The home was clean and well maintained, and the description of the property is accurate. The house is not very large, about 1100 square feet, but it was more than adequate for our family of 4. The kitchen was my favorite part of the house, as it has everything you might need for cooking meals. The only thing I might recommend in the house is larger fitted sheets for the beds, since they did not fit the mattresses and came off every night. There are plenty of towels, cleaning supplies, and household items. Our 2 young children loved the hot tub and the swing under the gorgeous oak tree outside. We brought our two dogs, so the front fenced area was nice to have. The surrounding nature is peaceful and calming. We saw deer everyday, as well as wild turkeys that came to the yard. The location was ideal for us, since we wanted to feel somewhat secluded but wanted easy access to Santa Cruz. We visited Roaring Camp Railroads, Henry Cowell State Park, and Highlands Park as well as the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Natural Bridges State Park and Ano Nuevo. Keep in mind that the Trout Valley Inn burned down in June of 2016. My major complaint about this rental was that there was no written or printed guide at the house. The information about the rental is sent in the Home Away app, which was not accessible with my phone. That meant I had to plug in my computer to view the house rules, etc. If I did not have my computer with me, I wouldn't have been able to access the information once I got to the rental. Also, I really wanted to "unplug" so having to access information via technology was sort of a bummer. There is a binder at the house with manufacturer's manuals for the appliances, but I did not want to read manuals I wanted a concise summary of how to use the TV, air conditioner, hot tub, etc. which I did not have. I definitely recommend to the owners that they put together a written summary of how to use the appliances in the house, as well as the rules for checking out, etc. Being able to flip though a well written guide is much more relaxing than staring at a computer. That said, Lolly was extremely responsive and supportive when I had questions. Overall, a great rental in a beautiful area and ideal location."

  • great house for entertaining!

"stayed at Robert and Karen's place with few other couples/friends for another friend's wedding weekend. The house is beautiful and plenty of space to congregate. It is definitely designed for entertaining! The pool table/bar downstairs and the kitchen/dining area upstairs were great places to catch up with friends. Beds were comfortable and the whole house were clean. They are close to the beach which was beautiful and quite peaceful/empty (granted it was December) but would be a fantastic place to spend summer days. We noticed the bikes/water sports equipment but unfortunately there was not enough time nor warm enough weather to enjoy them."
