  • couldn't ask for a better view

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great house clean great location only thing I would recommend is a chain lock on front door just for peace of mind. Although very good neighborhood just would make you feel better when your in a new home and also some windows don't lock other than that great place to stay."

  • Relaxing Vacation

"We just enjoyed our second stay in Cambria at the Artist’s Cottage. For two people the cottage is very spacious and is located in a wonderful location. You can walk to the coast and enjoy the walking through the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. We enjoy how quiet and peaceful it is in the neighborhood. Sitting on the deck and watching the ocean while eating lunch and drinking wine is very relaxing and in the spring we were able to see whales breaching. The house does have some quirks to it as other reviews have mentioned. Mainly the stairs and driveway are very steep. We bring our luggage upstairs via the outside stairs to the deck. On clear warm days the upstairs can warm up quite a bit, but we find keeping the slider open with the screen and having a fan or two on works well. When it gets foggy and cooler the main source of heat is a gas wood stove which does take an hour or so to warm things up. It is on a thermostat so you can leave it running at night if you want. For us the king sized bed (which is very comfortable) and the spacious well stocked kitchen are great features. Internet and TV work well and fast. Having a BBQ for cooking has been nice for us to grill steak on. Access to washer and dryer have been a benefit on both of our trips. The pictures on VRBO represent the condition and layout of the cottage very well. We have really enjoyed our stays at the cottage and love the Cambria area, and have plans to return next year. As we discussed our rating we settled on 4.5 since there are quirks, but if one knows up front what to expect the cottage can be a great place to relax and unwind."

  • Cambria Weekend

"Great place to return to after spending the day Geocaching and Antiquing. Was able to walk to the beach in less then 10 minutes. Great value compared to a hotel where you only get a room. Would definitely stay again."
