  • Perfect Home for our family

"Our family of four have been here at least 4 times, enjoying every visit! The home has almost everything you need. This past trip we brought my sister-in-law. She loved the fact that she had her own room with a fireplace! We have always felt at home. The convenient location allowed us to walk to shops, restaurants, post office, and the beach. It is challenging walking back home because it's up hill, but at least you get some exercise. The weather was perfect for us! We spent time in Monterey (Aquarium is awesome), Moss Landing (to view otters really close up), Big Sur (gorgeous views - Nepenthe, excellent views and restaurant - Phoenix, shop next to Nepenthe-awesome), Pfeiffer Beach (purple sand & hole in rock) & Point Lobos (more gorgeous scenery)! The house was a perfect distance away to visit all locations. Will return again some time."

  • Perfect Getaway

"We loved our trip to Carmel. Weather was in the 70's and sunny. This home was located perfectly - nice quick walk to beach, easy drive into Carmel and highway for Big Sur. This home is spacious, clean, comfortable, nice amenities. Beautiful vistas from every angle of the house. Windows and a few different Options for outdoor seating. Make sure you have a full gas tank if you plan to grill or use fire pit. We plan to come back with our families... This home really was perfect."

  • WOW! Sensory Overload

"We were and are 8 men on a golf trip (along with eating and drinking). We absolutely had a blast staying at the Hacienda. The whole place (including the grounds) would take a year just to take notice of all of the "stuff" that is a part of the property. Cheryl and Peterson were very accommodating and were very attentive to our needs, including bringing us fabulous homemade bread one day. The kitchen and dining area are great and can easily accommodate 15 people or more. The sound system with Pandora was like being at a concert and the grand piano was better than a Steinway. The house is totally unique as to how it was built and it is not cookie cutter anything, including being a little tired in spots. My brother who has always aspired to be a pyromaniac was in heaven; at first we thought the house was a little cold but once he started the fires in the living room fireplace, the outdoor fire pit, the cowboy grill, the kiln(at least we think that is what it was), the GREAT wood fired sauna , the herbal bath and eventually even the wood stove in the teepee the place came alive. I almost forgot that we all enjoyed the hot tub also. The staff was great and every evening the fire wood was replaced and ready to go. The house is gated and sits on a beautiful piece of property so you don't have to worry about locking up or leaving your personal items in the house while you are gone. One night Jack slept in the teepee with the wood stove and memory foam mattress and said it was his best nights sleep. We will probably come back next year and do it again, I believe it is the type of property that will improve the more you understand it. The things I think that we're a little bit of a challenge that made my rating a 4 instead of a 5 are: for 8 men that do not like sharing rooms we did have two shared rooms and one did not have a restroom attached to it, the sleeper couch could be more comfortable. For several couples this would not be an issue. Overall the golf, food and wine were terrific but the Hacienda made our trip memorable!"

  • Lovely peaceful 1 floor house, ideal for dogs.

"Had a very pleasant stay for a week in April. Great location, quiet and perfect for small dogs. Fenced yard completely pet proof. 20 min walk to the middle of Carmel shops along quiet, polite streets. No surprises, it is exactly as advertised. Two master bedrooms, with all the amenities you could need. Wifi worked, garage for the vehicle and good tv's. Carmel and the neighbourhood is a safe and friendly as it gets. Very solidly recommended."
