  • We want to make the Whalers cottage an annual visit.

"We first visited the Whaler's Cottage last year to celebrate a 70th birthday. We had family visit and what a wonderful time we had. We cooked most of our dinners and unlike other rentals the knives were sharp (very important) and if not, there was a knife sharpener. This year we invited a couple from Indiana that are old friends of ours. They could not believe the location and views that we experienced. Every morning one of them said "oh, another day of ocean TV!". Lots to do in surrounding area if you are not golfers. We loved the trails from the cottage down to the river and back. Point Lobos state reserve is not to be missed. Also, we were able to see butterflies in Pacific Grove. Again we ate meals in the evening at the cottage and marveled at the well stocked kitchen. We like three restaurants: The Red House, Fish Wives and not to be missed, The Roadhouse for shrimp and grits. Great beds, great views, and very, very clean. We will plan on a 2017 visit."

  • Romantic and Zen House - Flawless Stay.

"My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here for two nights in Carmel. The house is beautiful and airy, and the bedroom really does feel like waking up in a treehouse. The online photos are very accurate. We slept with the skylight open and loved waking up to the wind and the birds. Tons of space for two people, with two beautiful patios. Everything was first rate - from the bottle of wine and truffles that welcomed us, to the high quality towels and nice amentities. We loved the location - about ten minutes walk to the beach and the same into town on a nice pedestrian footbridge. We are fairly quick walkers. Also, our hosts provided plenty of great tips of local restaurants and sights and replied quickly to any questions by email. I would highly recommend this luxurious and zen spot for a romantic stay in Carmel."

  • Charming cottage in the heart of Carmel By the Sea

"Our three night stay in Marley Cottage (8/24-8/27) was fantastic. This charming cottage is cozy and welcoming, just steps from downtown Carmel. This tastefully furnished and well laid out cottage is complemented by lovely art work and a really gorgeous garden filled with colorful flowers and plants galore as well as fascinating old trees. Nestled in this wonderful oasis, we enjoyed a cup of tea at dusk as we relaxed after a busy day. Aside from the comfort and beauty of the cottage and its surroundings, the kitchen was well stocked and nicely laid out which we appreciated as we usually had our breakfast and dinner at the cottage. The linens and towels provided were high quality complemented by other small details - like having kleenex in all the rooms - that created a comfortable environment. Sharon, the owner, was delightful to work with and always accessible and immediately responsive. Her book on the functioning of the cottage (where to find things, how the TV works, when the trash is picked up and her final checklist for departure) was one of the best and most user friendly I have seen of all the VRBO rentals I have stayed in. We highly recommend a stay at Marley Cottage and hope to return someday. Jinny S (Washington D.C.) Jane S (Chicago, Illinois)"

  • Carmel Beach House

"Wonderful location with an older home. Just like my grandmothers, even with the built in ironing board. The stairs to the beach were literally out the front door. front windows looked out to Pebble Beach on the right and Point Lobos to the left. Location, location, location. A bit of a walk uphill to the shops in town for older folks, but public parking was plentiful. Three spacious bedrooms with the master upstairs with its own balcony. An older home but quite nicely kept and supplied. Definitely would go again."
