  • Great November Family Reunion!

"My family came from all over for our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The Mandalay Beach House was perfect for a quant and cozy beach getaway. Steve, the owner was extremely accommodating and accessible if we had any questions. The property was perfect for all 20 of us! There are separate living areas and kitchens, which made for an ideal situation for a multi-family vacation. We surprised my parents with this and it was such a treat to see them enjoying themselves on the beach. Great spot and perfect for a big get together."

  • Wonderful retreat

"We were thrilled to spend a long weekend in this lovely beachside home. Truly right on the beach, so you can wake and fall to sleep with the accompanying music of the waves. Great beds, great beach walking, a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy life. The suite at the top of the house is spectacular, with wide ranging views of the ocean and beach. There's a great market a mile a way, Trader Joe's a few miles further, so we cooked our way through the weekend and constantly enjoyed the sounds and the view (snowbirds!) between our walks."

  • Great space for family trip

"My family stayed at the beach house the end of July 2016 for five nights. It was the perfect fit for my family – 10 people including my husband, 2-year-old son, my sister’s family with three tweens/teens, and my cousin and his girlfriend. We rented the bottom unit as well. The layout of the house really works well for renters – plenty of space, but still easy for everyone to spend time together when they wanted. The plethora of outdoor balconies was fun and our family enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The beach was an easy 5-minute walk away. It was never very crowded. The waves were too rough for swimming, but it was nice to layout and play on the beach. We went to Mother’s Beach which is about a 5-minute drive away one day for much calmer waves for my son. Kristy went above and beyond with customer service before, during, and after our stay. She was easy to get ahold of when needing a few items for the place and provided the items very quickly. She made sure we were comfortable and she is a very generous and kind person. That means a lot to us. The house definitely felt homey as there are beach towels and even toys in the cupboards that were great for my son. The house had a few areas that needed some minor maintenance (e.g., light bulbs out, balconies needed cleaned). However, I realize we were staying in the middle of prime season for renting out and I think the house had been very busy. Kristy was receptive to the suggestions I made about the house for the next guests. Overall, super great experience. Great customer service. Great area of California. We could have stayed longer. Highly recommend working with Kristy."

  • Lovely, relaxing vacation!

"We had a wonderful time at the Windy Gables. It was a great set up for a family with young children. Also, I appreciated what a great job the cleaning crew did. The house was spotless upon arrival! The owners were very responsive when I had questions, and were able to help me. The main level of the house is very nice. Lots of living space! We loved the view from the master, we spent many evenings on the balcony and left the screen open at night so we could hear the waves. We loved our stay. I would say the beach was a bit of a surprise for us - no shells but soft sand. We found a ton of rocks to take home! (But I wouldn't call it a rocky beach). The waves were insane when we visited (end of October). The swells were about 8-10 feet high, tons of surfing. But not great for kids! I don't believe it's always like that though. The house was in a great location to walk to the Channel Islands harbor. We spent many mornings at HoneyCup Coffee Shop and although Sea Fresh was closed for renovations while we were there, we heard great things. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely go back! Our one and only 'complaint' was a high chair would have been nice to have :)."
