  • A Perfect Stay

"Our family loved our stay at 'Om Sweet Om'. The house is exactly as described and is so comfortable, we could truly rest and relax. We were able to walk to the many shops and restaurants downtown. The Aquarium, Cannery Row, Carmel by the Sea, Pebble Beach and 17 Mile Drive were just a short drive away. Michelle and Monterey Rentals have the perfect system to make checking in and out smooth and simple. We will definitely return to 'Om Sweet Om' on our next visit."

"4 nights over Memorial weekend. Loved the house, well equipped kitchen. Beautiful back yard that our puppy enjoyed. Upstairs bedroom is so comfortable with great light. Can't wait to return!"

  • Excellent stay. the absolute de-stress experience.

"we stayed at the house with another 5 friends. It is a very comfortable and really "warm" place to stay. we felt like home in every corner of the house. the property is in a very quiet place. The view is astonishing. we loved the nature around us. What is also important is that it is located very close to any type of amentities we looked. apart from the great beach walks, just right in front of our feet, we found coffee shops and restaurnats just 5-10mins drive away from the property. Towels and sheet were clean and the house was in very good condition. we will visit again for sure."

  • good base of operations

"well, as other guests have said, this condo has a great location, and it's for this reason alone i chose it and gave it 4 stars. we came for 5 nights to explore the coast, and this place gave us an excellent base to go between sf and big sur, which we did. my track star daughter ran on the monterey recreation trail across the street every day, and we loved watching the sea otters play in the surf. we ate in for several dinners and it was a treat to dine looking at the ocean. the parking spot is convenient for a small car like ours. the aquarium is top notch, but cannery row isn't worth more than the hour or so it takes to walk it. the central coast really is beautiful, and this condo was worth it for us as we were out the door every morning exploring. for a "stay at home" vacation rental, i'd think twice. i think it's important to note that you can't judge this rental as you would a hotel. you get more space and privacy with a vrbo like this, but you also have to live with the flaws as there is not a front desk to call and have every issue resolved. for example... -not all stove burners work -several blinds chords are broken off -the balcony door needs to be re-hung, as my daughter was actually unable to open or close it and it took all my strength to do so. - several windows, including both bathrooms, have broken window cranks, rendering them inoperable -the place is cluttered, really cluttered. it is the owner's place, which she uses, and she may decorate it as she wishes. however, as a paying guest, you have to search for a place to put down your keys and wallet so as not to disturb the many little trinkets which populate every surface. -outside the master bedroom there is a security light which is very, very bright, and burns all night. this will not bother you if you are used to sleeping with an illuminated lamp 8 feet from your pillow every night."
