  • Lovely Home

"This property is in a quiet area of Pacific Grove and we enjoyed the laid-back vibe on our recent stay. The owner has taken good care of the home and provides lovely details. You won't have to search for towels here and they will be good quality. The master suite is lovely. We were even able to see the fireworks for Festival of the Lanterns from an upstairs window, which was a treat. The only drawback to the master is that there is no door to close it off from the downstairs. Noise can be a problem if you have some night owls staying with you. The kitchen is small and has limited counter space, but we weren't interested in cooking any big meals. The owner was really nice and answered all questions promptly. We had a lovely visit with our daughter and son-in-law here."

  • Perfect spot for us

"We had to change our vacation location at the last minute due to the devastating fires in Big Sur (bless all the hardworking fire crews!!!). This was a great Plan B! We've always enjoyed this neck of the woods/ocean, but this was the first time we got to enjoy it with our 9 month old grandchild. She (and we) loved the strolls to the cafes, the beach, the art museum, the tidepools and through the quiet neighborhood streets. The patio allowed us to easily enjoy the weather and quiet beauty of this spot. Walking out the door into the most gorgeous bougainvillea we've ever seen kind of takes your breath away. Accurate description, friendly and helpful owners, very comfortable for all. Hope to return one day."

  • Great Location!

"My husband and I, plus some family members, recently spent 4 nights at the Gingerbread House in Pacific Grove, before and during our daughter's wedding weekend. The House was charming, clean, and in a great location for walking to downtown shops/restaurants, as well as to the path along the ocean. We have been going the Monterey area for years, and always prefer to stay in Pacific Grove vs. either Monterey or Carmel. The rooms were all spacious and comfortable, and the half bath was an added bonus. It was great to have another area for getting ready on the morning of the wedding. The drive into Monterey for the wedding was quick and easy. The only negative was that there wasn't a nice outdoor space for congregating for a meal. A "secluded patio" was mentioned, but it wasn't set up for a group and was not particularly inviting. Since we were out and about most of the time, it didn't matter, but if we had been there for a more leisurely stay, with more time spent cooking and eating in, we would have preferred a better outdoor area for a group."

  • South of France in Monterey, CA

"I arrived at the Little Jewel Box after three and a half months of traveling, having stayed in VRBO properties in Ojai, CA, Port Townsend WA, and two separate properties in Victoria, Canada. I needed a rest from all that traveling and I found just what I needed - it was like escaping to the South of France! This private, peaceful spot is perfect in every way - the location, decor, the comfy couch and bed and quite a library of DVDs and books to read. Even though Kipra was out of town during my stay, she communicated with me in a timely manner."
