  • Excellent for family getaway for summer, long holiday weekends, holiday break.

"My husband, college age son and I just returned from a wonderful Christmas week at the house. Ruta was wonderful - when we arrived, holiday lights twinkled in the kitchen windows and a fully decorated Christmas tree greeted us in the living room. Very thoughtful, and much appreciated after a long drive from the SF Bay area. The weather was perfect. The house was clean and well maintained. Excellent customer service when we had a small issue with the heater - Ruta was very responsive, and the maintenance man was friendly when he dropped in to help. Kitchen was fully equipped to prepare festive holiday meals and more casual fare. We enjoyed the area with long walks on the beaches and shopping. Busy Bee Café our new favorite. Also, Handlebar for great artisanal coffee in Santa Barbara. Train noise was occasional, and took a little getting used to. Important to note that these tracks go through every beachside town along this area of Southern California coast - it is a fact of life for beachside living here, and it would be a thrill for younger visitors. I would recommend this home to friends looking for a comfortable, quiet getaway that is fully equipped for fun and family."

  • Second Stay as Great as the First

"This was our second stay at the condo and it was every bit as great as the first. Simply put, this is a great value. The condo itself is cute and user friendly whether staying for a week or a month or more. The location is ideal -- a short walk to the beach and a short walk into town (bars, restaurants, groceries, shopping). Carpinteria is a great little California beach town. The condo is a short walk to the Amtrak station and access to Santa Barbara, Ventura and beyond. Bus service also a few blocks away. Uber is available, but sometimes costly because of lack of available drivers, but still a good deal for specific point-to-point rides. Condo is well stocked including a locker with everything needed for a day at the beach. Off street parking and a secure area for bikes. Above all, management is outstanding and very willing to work with you to make your stay enjoyable and ensure that the condo meets your expectations. We will be back again next year."

  • This is beachfront living! 🐬🐬🐬

"This is our second summer and we have already booked our stay for next year! We have been renting in Carp for almost 20 years and let me tell you, we are thrilled to have found the best rental in the sand! The sounds of the waves put you to sleep and gently wake you in the morning. The two sliders facing the sand, give the feeling of an open living space. The rooms are roomy and two full bathrooms make it easy for our family when we come back from the beach. We spend our nights playing games at the table and listening to the waves."

  • Serene Escape

"We were in SB recently for a week to attend a family funeral and such events are never highly anticipated "fun getaways". I very much needed a home like setting, rather than a cold and impersonal hotel - a quiet sanctuary to escape to daily, a warm environment where family could gather in comfort, serenity, peace and relaxation. We were so fortunate to find Ed and Joan's home. It's ideally placed just at the edge of Summerland and feels so tucked away and private yet easily accessible to downtown Summerland, Carpinteria, Montecito and a short skip to Santa Barbara as well as the beach. The home sits in a quiet neighborhood, set back from the street and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, a gorgeous pool and several retreat areas with ample seating and lounging opportunities providing a welcome escape every day. Stop at the Trader Joe's in SB on your way, pull-up, unpack, and unwind. We slept comfortably every night in the sumptuous beds and cooked at home daily finding everything we needed including an outdoor grill and comfortable dining areas inside and out. The backyard is truly a tranquil paradise where one could spend all day long swimming, sunning, lounging, and resting. This home could function in so many ways; a romantic getaway for two, couples escape, girlfriends weekend for three or more, writer's retreat, or as a homebase for friends and family wanting to explore and adventure in the region. The interior with two fireplaces and gathering areas would be just as cozy in the cooler winter months. The owners were very respectful of our privacy, flexible, and extremely responsive to every need or question. I wish our stay had been under more pleasant circumstances but grateful we were able to find a real home that provided genuine comfort for friends and family during a trying time."
