  • An Amazing Getaway

"We were looking for a nice getaway weekend with the girls, and Summerland is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house was spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this house again next time we come back to Summerland! I highly recommend going to the Red Kettle Coffee on the main drag--it's local and the coffee is delicious. The house is just a short drive to the beach, walkable if you're willing."

  • Great Holiday Location

"This home is located in the hills above Montecito, in a beautiful residential neighborhood with winding streets and plenty of interesting real estate to look at. There isn't a water view, but there is a lovely view across the hills; the beautiful light of the sunrise greeted us every morning. The view from the house and the deck is wonderful. If you are a walker, the streets close to the home are not busy; however, there is no sidewalk and very little shoulder so zoning out with your music is probably not a good idea. If you would rather walk/hike on one of the great trails or along the beach of your choice, then no problem! The little shopping area of Montecito is close by (by car) and has a great bakery, and a few shops. Substantial grocery shopping is further away. The house has great living space. The kitchen is well appointed. You can tell that someone lives here when guests aren't checked in. It's a home. The kitchen has good appliances and we had fun cooking as a family. There's plenty of room for several people to be at work on food. The pantry is not at all empty and you are welcome to use supplies you find. So a piece of advice to those checking in: don't go grocery shopping first and assume that you need to buy olive oil and sugar, you probably don't. There is a grill on the deck but we didn't use it during our stay. The house was clean when we arrived and we had no problems getting in even though our flight was delayed and it was late at night. Jill gave very good driving directions so we were prepared for odd house numbering. Jill was very responsive during our stay even though she was in Colorado when we were in SB. We communicated by text and she texted back within minutes each time. We had to contact her about a drain in the sink (solved) and wanted to let her know that a lamp on the deck had blown over in the wind (solved). The first floor furniture is comfortable, I wouldn't classify it as new. The best part of the living room furniture was two very long sofas that you could stretch all the way out on. The living area is large and has two furniture groupings, one with the TV. It was great having a first floor powder room. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. A great family holiday location!"

  • Luxury Guest House in heart of Montecito

"The reviews are right...this is a gem in Montecito. We own 3 high-end VRBO properties so my expectations are pretty high and this property exceeded all of them. It's like having your own private home complete with luxury finishes and thoughtful details. It's an easy walk into town and the beach. We had lunch at the Four Seasons but were so happy to retreat back to our private cottage, away from the tourists. I wish I could give it 6 stars. Thank you Sandra for sharing your beautiful guest house with us! We'll be back!"
