  • Enjoyable stay

"My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at our hosts home. The location and the property was lovely and the views great. Our host provided a nice welcome with directions and information on how best to get around, great places to eat, and local events. The property was clean and well maintained and just far enough out of town to be to feel rural. We had a great time and would stay again. Greg and Susie Zimmerman Fairbanks, Alaska"

  • Jeannette G.

"This home is absolutely incredible!! It's a beautifully decorated beach cottage that makes you feel transported from the inside pages of a magazine into a real life home you get to pretend is your own!! Jeff is great to work with and very accessible. The home has everything you need to relax, enjoy, and soak in the the Santa Barbara vibe. It's fantastic location makes it easy to explore SB and all it has to offer. The house and everything in it is high quality and very accommodating. Also, a plus, great parking for visitors right across the street! Thanks Jeff!! We loved it!"

  • Great home for gatherings

"We booked this home for a family vacation and enjoyed it immensely. We had a group of 10 people and not only were the bedrooms ample with comfortable beds, but the living area and outside deck offered us plenty of room. The view from the deck was amazing and so relaxing to have our dinners and morning coffee we felt like we were staying in the Tuscan countryside a million miles away! The kitchen was well stocked for us to prepare our meals and enjoy all the comforts of home. Although there was a large television in the family room and a TV in each bedroom we never turned any of them on and instead just enjoyed the relaxing feel of the home and playing games out on the deck. The drive into town is about 10 minutes, but due to the parking issues in town because it was Fiesta weekend, we chose to use Uber and Lyft which were very available at all times. Although this has nothing to do with the house itself I have to comment on Karen the owner and how incredibly easy and accomodating she was to work with. On the last night we were there, my daughter had an emergency appendectomy, which caused us to have to stay another night. My husband and I were madly trying to find a hotel to move to, but when I emailed Karen to just ask if it would be ok to extend our check out time, she responded quickly by telling us to just stay in the house and not to worry about it. I can't tell you how touched we were by her generosity and feel the need to thank her again and again. Outside of the emergency, we had a great time and this house exceeded our expectations and would rent it again in a heartbeat!"

  • Perfect Thanksgiving retreat for our extended family of 10

"Our family klan just returned from four very relaxing days spent at Casa Das Palmas and we are already hoping to return someday. As a previous reviewer noted, the place is even lovelier in person than in the photos; everything is tastefully decorated with treasures from Bali, the Indian subcontinent, the Mediterranean coast, and Meso-America (n.b., I should add that I was especially impressed with the "smaller" scale decorator touches as well, e.g., real wood doors, beautiful tiling in the Jack 'n Jill bathroom, fragrant flowers). Our 5 kids (ages 4-10) played football and soccer on the great expansive lawn, shot hoops on the basketball court, played tennis (even at night, on the lighted court), had ample places indoors and outdoors to hide (when playing hide-and-seek), and frolicked in the pool and jacuzzi to cool off. The adults enjoyed reading and lounging on their many luxurious and comfortable daybeds (indoor and outdoor), prepped our Thanksgiving feast in their gourmet kitchen, and jogged daily to the nearby beach and back. We loved how we could sit 11 people around their kitchen table and could make s'mores together in their cozy indoor fireplace (n.b., they also had two outdoor fireplaces that we might have used if warmer in the evenings). Everything was perfect and the icing on the cake was the wonderful hospitality of the owners - Vivi was a delight to work with (when corresponding about the rental agreement) and Chris (their property manager) was so gracious in welcoming us on our first day and providing a mini-tour of the house, hand-delivering a copy of the New York Times the following day when my father noted that his copy of the Los Angeles Times hadn't arrived, and returning on our final day to bid us adieu. If our travel plans allow for it, we will return!"
