  • Perfect Thanksgiving retreat for our extended family of 10

"Our family klan just returned from four very relaxing days spent at Casa Das Palmas and we are already hoping to return someday. As a previous reviewer noted, the place is even lovelier in person than in the photos; everything is tastefully decorated with treasures from Bali, the Indian subcontinent, the Mediterranean coast, and Meso-America (n.b., I should add that I was especially impressed with the "smaller" scale decorator touches as well, e.g., real wood doors, beautiful tiling in the Jack 'n Jill bathroom, fragrant flowers). Our 5 kids (ages 4-10) played football and soccer on the great expansive lawn, shot hoops on the basketball court, played tennis (even at night, on the lighted court), had ample places indoors and outdoors to hide (when playing hide-and-seek), and frolicked in the pool and jacuzzi to cool off. The adults enjoyed reading and lounging on their many luxurious and comfortable daybeds (indoor and outdoor), prepped our Thanksgiving feast in their gourmet kitchen, and jogged daily to the nearby beach and back. We loved how we could sit 11 people around their kitchen table and could make s'mores together in their cozy indoor fireplace (n.b., they also had two outdoor fireplaces that we might have used if warmer in the evenings). Everything was perfect and the icing on the cake was the wonderful hospitality of the owners - Vivi was a delight to work with (when corresponding about the rental agreement) and Chris (their property manager) was so gracious in welcoming us on our first day and providing a mini-tour of the house, hand-delivering a copy of the New York Times the following day when my father noted that his copy of the Los Angeles Times hadn't arrived, and returning on our final day to bid us adieu. If our travel plans allow for it, we will return!"

It's a beautifully decorated beach cottage that makes you feel transported from the inside pages of a magazine into a real life home you get to pretend is your own!! Jeff is great to work with and very accessible. The home has everything you need to relax, enjoy, and soak in the the Santa Barbara vibe. It's fantastic location makes it easy to explore SB and all it has to offer. The house and everything in it is high quality and very accommodating. • A Wonderful Retreat With Great Views and Close to Activities

"We rented this home for a long weekend and wanted a nice quiet place to relax and get away. The view was gorgeous and we spent most of the time lounging on the deck and soaking up the sun and cool ocean air. The home had everything we needed and we loved cooking in the kitchen in the evenings and enjoyed eating outside on the deck. We would make the short trip into Santa Barbara or Ventura during the day to shop, explore or eat, but nothing beat coming back to the beach. We would absolutely come back again! Such an amazing home - we would highly recommend it!"

  • Perfect Graduation & Family Reunion Weekend!

"We recently gathered at this beautiful home for our daughter's graduation from UCSB. The home is very well appointed and comfortable. We had several families stay and there was plenty of room for our group of 10. All the beds were quite comfortable. The large kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. (They even have a second refrigerator in the garage which saved us!) The large dining table seated everyone and was useful for our late night card games. The gas barbecue was well maintained and used often during our stay. The back yard is very large, private and has plenty of seating with a very nice remote outdoor living space to relax, visit and sip wine. We also enjoyed the private beach which is a short walk. It's very secluded and offers great views of the sea lions on the rocks. Another plus is the hiking trails and a bike path which leads you to Goleta Beach and UCSB (apx 5 mile ride round-trip). Everyone had such an enjoyable time we can't wait to visit again. My only regret is not booking it for a longer stay!"
