  • Exceptional Beach Cottage in Carpinteria!

"We were fortunate to be able to book this beautiful cottage! It has all the amenities you could think of for a perfect beach vacation. Our family of 4 (2 adults/2 toddler boys (5,3) enjoyed our stay here. Upon pulling up to cottage, we could see the ocean down the street and our boys couldn't wait to go play! Unfortunately the weather wasn't the warmest but our boys didn't care and jumped into the ocean without even putting on their swimsuits. Thank God for the heated outdoor shower that they used before coming into the house :). Every amenity you could imagine from toaster, waffle maker, and even a french press coffee was provided. Plenty of towels (beach and bath) were available for us that we didn't have to do laundry every day. The kids loved having the apple tv and internet available to watch their shows when they were done playing outside. Both rooms beds were exceptionally comfortable and you didn't want to get out of them. I used the beach cruiser everyday to ride down to Lucky Llamas and get a acai bowl for breakfast and donuts for the rest of the fam (one suggestion would be to add a basket to one of the bikes to carry groceries in). We even had some relatives over one night for dinner and family game night with plenty of room for everyone. The closeness to both the beach, downtown shops/restaurants, and the train station were all pluses in my book! Definitely try out the Thai restaurant on Linden for some great Thai food!"

  • Whimsy, Class & Natural Beauty

"This property is over-the-top gorgeous! Outside space as large as inside space and surprisingly private, given you are in the heart of downtown. Everywhere you look, you see fine design, whimsy, top craftsmanship and comfort. We will return to this property every year for our April getaway! You can walk everywhere, though there is a private, secure garage onsite. Master bedroom on the top floor is so calm and beautiful with two balconies and french doors. The bed was beyond comfortable; a lovely cocoon! Shop the Farmers Market on Saturday morning, stock up on produce and flowers for your visit. You will feel like you are home every minute in paradise!"

  • Cute little house in SB Hills

"We stayed at this cute little house for a weekend getaway. The check in / check out process is easy. It has a nice lay out and would be great for a family. Lots of stuff stocked in the kitchen to make meals - although like most vacation rentals (we travel and rent quite a bit) you have to hunt for stuff as things are sort of thrown into drawers in a big mish mash, but not a deal breaker - it was easy to find what was needed. If you want to walk to State Street this isn't really the spot for you - but it's a quick car ride away and just down the hill is anything you could need as far as supplies go. The house was very clean and it was lovely to sit with the French doors open and watch the blue jays and woodpeckers and the mountains of SB. The only drawback for us was the state of the lawn in the yard all around the property. Look, I'm a native California, I get that grass is a no go with the drought, but dead brown grass and dirt is just so bad aesthetically. We didn't use the hot tub, or the outdoor table, or the ping pong because it was just super uninviting out there which is a pity because it really should be a huge part of the rental experience. Digging up the dead grass and putting down fake grass, ground cover, DG or even pea gravel would be better than looking at that. Not to mention the toll it takes on the carpets if you have people tracking dust and dirt in and out. Anyway, that would probably be the only reason to say we didn't love the house 100%, other than that it's nice place and the owners were very nice to deal with."
