  • Wonderful Spring Break Getaway in Beautiful Villa Maria

"We've been visiting Santa Barbara our entire lives & know the town well. So we were very discriminating in choosing where to stay. We looked for weeks & carefully filtered for homes with our desired criteria. We decided on Villa Maria and we're very happy we did. We especially enjoyed: pool & spa (countless hours spent in there), open floor plan, outdoor living feeling, massive living room, fully equipped kitchen, doors & windows everywhere, proximity to many attractions, eclectic art that adds character, surround sound system inside and outside, frogs croaking at night, & more. Hollie (property liaison) was very helpful throughout our stay. Thanks again, Hollie! Some tips / info for future guests: - BBQ works, just need to manually light it (we used a long lighter) - Steep driveway, but no issues for us. Lots of room to park. - Plug in the Aux cord in living room TV area into your music device (eg, iPhone) and set receiver to Aux to play music. If you have an iPhone 7, bring your 3.5 mm adapter. - There are tenants that live in a small apartment under the house. This was unexpected when we learned about it, but we had no issues. They have a separate entrance and walkway and we only saw them twice over the course of a week. - There are art "bungalows" separate from main house that owner rents out for day use. We saw a couple people go in & out of those, but they had a separate walkway & didn't disturb us. - More to share but not enough space Some constructive feedback for the property manager / owners to be helpful: - Carpet color: white may be challenging for some guests and shows dirt more than other colors. Perhaps a light tan? - BBQ: worked, but needs a deep cleaning & eventually replacement - Toiletries: as with other properties, we expected fresh toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, body wash. There were only used toiletries that looked like they were left by prior guests. - Stock a couple large plastic spoons (eg, for stirring) - Clean out the refrigerator & freezer of perishables before guests come - Check pool & spa to ensure they're at right temp prior to guests coming (Note: there was a one-off heating issue day 1 that Hollie was quick to correct in <24 hours) - Waterfall in front yard: we'd love to have turned it on, but didn't see a way to All in all, a wonderful stay and we’d definitely go back. Thank you, Hollie, Ashley, and the rest of the team!"

  • Everything we Expected

"The rental property was very well maintained - fully equipped with every possible kitchen utensil and appliance. Neighborhood was convenient and very quiet. Views are spectacular. Not great for small children as there is no yard and a deck that is not child proofed. House is perfect for 1 or 2 couples, or 3 individuals."

  • Comfortable, Charming, Steps to Beach & Downtown

"Super-cute cottage steps to Carpinteria's beautiful beaches and cool downtown area. Really liked the fireplace, vaulted ceilings, patio area, and overall comfort and charm of the property. And loved the great light, views of the coastal mountains, and sound of waves gently rolling in at night. Clean and well-maintained too - would recommend!"
