  • Birthday Celebration

"This home is newly restored and absolutely beautiful. Kristin has thought of every possible comfort to make your stay beyond delightful. From the incredibly comfortable mattresses with high thread count sheets to the warm throw blankets that keep you cosy while sitting outside enjoying the ocean views; all your needs are easily met. Our family went to SB to celebrate our college daughter's birthday and were able to all stay together in the house. The kitchen is well stocked and completely organized with anything you might need to cook all weekend. The ocean views from the house are spectacular. The house sits on a hill and is extremely quiet which allowed our family to sleep in and completely relax. It is minutes to Montecito or downtown SB. We will definitely stay again. We can't wait! Thank you, Kristin for making our weekend so special."

  • Wonderful and fun property!

"Great place to share with grown children. Much to do within walking and short driving distance. House was unique inside and out and very homey. Both the firepit outside and the funky fireplace were used. As a an avid home gardener I also appreciated the many plantings in addition to all of the fun outside activities on the property."

  • Great Holiday Location

"This home is located in the hills above Montecito, in a beautiful residential neighborhood with winding streets and plenty of interesting real estate to look at. There isn't a water view, but there is a lovely view across the hills; the beautiful light of the sunrise greeted us every morning. The view from the house and the deck is wonderful. If you are a walker, the streets close to the home are not busy; however, there is no sidewalk and very little shoulder so zoning out with your music is probably not a good idea. If you would rather walk/hike on one of the great trails or along the beach of your choice, then no problem! The little shopping area of Montecito is close by (by car) and has a great bakery, and a few shops. Substantial grocery shopping is further away. The house has great living space. The kitchen is well appointed. You can tell that someone lives here when guests aren't checked in. It's a home. The kitchen has good appliances and we had fun cooking as a family. There's plenty of room for several people to be at work on food. The pantry is not at all empty and you are welcome to use supplies you find. So a piece of advice to those checking in: don't go grocery shopping first and assume that you need to buy olive oil and sugar, you probably don't. There is a grill on the deck but we didn't use it during our stay. The house was clean when we arrived and we had no problems getting in even though our flight was delayed and it was late at night. Jill gave very good driving directions so we were prepared for odd house numbering. Jill was very responsive during our stay even though she was in Colorado when we were in SB. We communicated by text and she texted back within minutes each time. We had to contact her about a drain in the sink (solved) and wanted to let her know that a lamp on the deck had blown over in the wind (solved). The first floor furniture is comfortable, I wouldn't classify it as new. The best part of the living room furniture was two very long sofas that you could stretch all the way out on. The living area is large and has two furniture groupings, one with the TV. It was great having a first floor powder room. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. A great family holiday location!"

  • Private, Natural Oasis in Montecito Hills

"My husband and I stayed almost a week at this property and it was just perfect for us. We had some reservations about staying in the guest house of a larger home (we like privacy!), but we found we had all the privacy we needed because of the way they have constructed it. We ran into Jill, the owner, one time and had a quick introduction and chat and that was the last we came into contact. As for the unit, tall french doors lead to a small, landscaped stone courtyard with a wonderfully soothing water feature. We left at least one door open quite often as we enjoyed the sound and the frequent hummingbirds. Kitchen is new, with soft closing doors, quartz counters and a great gas range. View of the mountain range from the under mounted sink. Nice full size washer and dryer helped with beach towels, etc. Very comfortable sheets and linens on the king size bed, and I found the upstairs queen bed (in the loft) very cozy to read or nap. Two portable a/c units keep things cool, but we found we only used them in the afternoon heat. One of the best beaches in Santa Barbara is less than 10 minutes down the hill, along with great food and shopping. Just far enough to be away and just close enough to access everything!! Overall, despite a small amount of wear and tear ( a bit of wear to bathroom vanity, small tear to loft carpet, a touch up of paint in a few spots in the loft) we would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was an excellent choice in our price range and felt we sacrificed nothing in lieu of the expense of a fancy hotel. Thank you, Jill, for providing an upscale, affordable vacation option!! NOTES: the weather was quite mild (78 for a high) during our visit, you may need to run the a/c more frequently if you are visiting during a heat wave. If you like to take baths, bring a flat, plastic disc as a stopper as the mechanism for the tub is non functioning. If you like to do yoga or stretch, the laminate floors are pretty hard so bring a yoga mat."
