  • Paradise at Pebble

"We found the home to have all the comforts of home as the owners have left nothing out. The beds all slept comfortable, kitchen had all cookware and glassware and opens to the dining room and family rooms so it's very user friendly, the TV is big screen with all the channels , washer dryer and ironing board which we found very useful as we were on a lengthy bus trip. Unfortunately we didn't find time to use the weber kettle but did get some time on the very private patio in the evening. The house is centrally located to all attractions in the Monterey Peninsula and is located inside the gates of the prestigious Pebble Beach community. We will definitely return as we have already booked for next year. Two thumbs up all the way!"

  • Great Location!

"My husband and I, plus some family members, recently spent 4 nights at the Gingerbread House in Pacific Grove, before and during our daughter's wedding weekend. The House was charming, clean, and in a great location for walking to downtown shops/restaurants, as well as to the path along the ocean. We have been going the Monterey area for years, and always prefer to stay in Pacific Grove vs. either Monterey or Carmel. The rooms were all spacious and comfortable, and the half bath was an added bonus. It was great to have another area for getting ready on the morning of the wedding. The drive into Monterey for the wedding was quick and easy. The only negative was that there wasn't a nice outdoor space for congregating for a meal. A "secluded patio" was mentioned, but it wasn't set up for a group and was not particularly inviting. Since we were out and about most of the time, it didn't matter, but if we had been there for a more leisurely stay, with more time spent cooking and eating in, we would have preferred a better outdoor area for a group."

  • More than anticipated

"I was traveling home for my high school reunion when I went looking for a place to stay. I was new to VRBO and was excited to find a house on the same block as my sister's home. I convinced my girlfriends to come join me to explore Calif together. We found Chuck and Mary's place the ideal place for our needs. After a long day of traveling from the East Coast, the patio was the perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary amenities to toss together our meals. We loved sitting on the patio watching the hummingbirds each morning as we sipped coffee and enjoyed our breakfast. Also, thank you for supplying firewood for the chiminea it kept us warm & toasty in the cool Monterey evenings. The location is ideal for Monterey Peninsula sightseeing-Downtown, Fisherman's Wharf, Asilomar, Cannery Row, the Aquarium, Carmel, Big Sur, Santa Cruz, so many things to see and do but not enough time. Stop in at Mal's corner market up the street, best sandwiches in town, Dennis was very helpful and kind. The house was so adorable and well equipped, that we felt spoiled and pampered (and yes the shower is amazing), the perfect spot for a girl's trip. So much that when it was time to leave for Napa no one was ready to leave. Chuck and Mary have thought of everything a guest may want, thank you for your hospitality and the memories. Will definitely like to call it 'my home away from home' for my next trip to be with my family in Monterey."

  • Pajaro Dunes stay

"Shorebirds 115 has a great set up for two families. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the "kids" room worked well with 2 sets of bunk beds. The second bedroom was nice, but the bed is a little small. Linens and towels were of good quality and plentiful. The family room was large and provided plenty of space for us to relax when we weren't on the beach. Great TV, wifi, and Apple TV set up along with iHome speakers/docking stations throughout the condo. The kitchen was well stocked with the cooking tools we needed. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, as was the gate attendant. I appreciated the call earlier in the day saying that the condo was ready for us in advance of the 4pm check in. Very nice view from the master bedroom and one of the two decks off the main room. We would definitely stay at Shorebirds 115 again."
