  • Cozy and charming

"We enjoyed our time here. This charming cottage was tastefully put together. With much wood trim, the upstairs feels like a treehouse--yet large enough to be both sitting room and bedroom overlooking the yacht harbor. The downstairs is smaller, although the kitchen was well supplied, and opens to a private patio for outdoor meals. Our host, Karen, was wonderful and created the perfect vibe. Tip: put the yellow throw pillow in the porthole above the bed (only lower half is necessary) or the sunrise will fall full on your face; bring toilet paper and a personal hotspot as wifi is very weak. Minor issues for an overall lovely stay. Be sure and stroll the promenade walk overlooking the beach!"

  • Beach Glass House is an All-around Winner

"We have rented vacation homes in the Santa Cruz/Aptos areas for nine years. Beach Glass House is--hands down--the best of all our rental experiences. The home is spacious, light, and decorated with very appealing beach decor. The owner is very responsive, and two minor issues were resolved swiftly and completely. The beach is a short walk from the front door (+/- 5 minutes), although there is a bit of a scramble over large rocks to get to the sand. This home is wonderful for the entire family, although it would not work for anyone with serious mobility issues, due to the stairs up to the front door and the interior spiral staircase to the upper and lower floors. That said, we loved it, and our group of 10 included five children from 1-1/2 to 11-1/2 years and 5 adults, including grandparents (us), ages 30s to 70. The owners have thoughtfully provided a variety of beach gear--sand toys, boogie and skim boards, etc. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table. There is a single, large flat-screen TV in the loft, and I actually enjoyed the absence of a TV in the master bedroom and living room! The back yard is very nicely landscaped, and the hot tub was a huge hit. There is a hand-held, warm-water outdoor shower next to it with a flexible hose for rinsing off before enjoying the hot tub and heading indoors. The home's location is also excellent from a convenience standpoint. It is ten minutes or less to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, supermarkets, or the Boardwalk, and equally close to a large number of restaurants. All of these can be accessed via city streets, making it possible to avoid the ever-present traffic snarl on Highway 1. We also enjoyed the upstairs deck, complete with umbrella table, gas barbecue, and outdoor heater. Oh, did I mention that it also boasts a view of the ocean?!! In short, look no farther than Beach Glass House. We returned home yesterday and have already booked for next summer!!!"

  • Excellent beach getaway!

"This home was everything we had hoped for and more. The house is well cared for, well equipped and the perfect location. My entire family enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere, the beautiful ocean views and lovely landscaping. We walked to Capitola for beach fun, shopping and dining out. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing beach retreat. We even enjoyed the evening fog! Happy!"

  • Amazing Family Vacation!!!

"Charming, quiet and more amenities than you can imagine. The house was spotless upon our arrival and very cozy, even fresh flowers waiting for us. We had 8 people staying in total and had more than enough room for everyone. My immediate family and I, including 4 daughters, stayed in the house and my parents, in their 70's, stayed in the cottage out back. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to the beach and dinner and it was a short drive to the Boardwalk and the Mystery Sport. We cooked most of our meals at the house, the kitchen was very well appointed (especially love the electronic pepper grinder). We took the wagon to the beach every day, used all the sand toys and beach towels- everything was sooo convenient. This was a HUGE splurge for us and our only family vacation of the summer, and we LOVED every minute. We will definitely be back."
