  • Great Stay

"The property was as advertised. We really enjoyed our stay. The sparsely occupied beach was a real bonus. Drank a lot of wine watching those spectacular sunsets. Even saw some dolphins cavorting on a couple of occasions."

  • Home sweet Home

"While our household goods were in transit between Hawaii and Calgary we wanted a place to stay. This beautiful victorian home in the centre of San Luis Obispo was perfect for the month of July 2016. Everything we needed from frying pans to washing machines was provided in this home. The monthly rate fit well into our budget and we had always wanted to explore SLO town as the locals call it. We attended the Thursday Farmers Market, hiked Bishops Peak and went to the mid state fair in Paso Robles! Walking most times to yoga, shopping, restaurants, and even wine tasting. Parking in the courtyard was convenient and our privacy was maintained by the white picket fence surrounding the property. I have rented with VRBO over 50 times around the world and easily I can say this has been one of the most pleasant stays ever. Thank you Kathy and Chelsea! We'll be back....."

  • THE Place to Stay

"Wow!! We have been vacationing in Cayucos for 24 years and this house has been our very favorite!! It has awesome views, it's clean, and has a large deck to relax, play games or share a meal! During our week stay we were able to see dolphins and a few whales from the wall of windows overlooking the ocean. We are already planning our stay for next year at this fabulous house! Thank you Don for sharing your piece of paradise!"

  • Perfect place for 70th Birthday Celebration

"The Casita was the perfect place to spend a week exploring the Santa Barbara area for my husband's 70th Birthday. The description and excellent reviews which made me choose this property were accurate and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. We cooked 5 of the 7 nights and Mary and Tom had everything one might need or use in the very well furnished kitchen. It was nice to have fresh cold filtered water in the refrigerator and 2 fans going when we arrived on a very hot day. There are windows all around the apartment, so a nice breeze came in every night and we were quite comfortable during the unusual hot spell. The sitting area was a cozy place to read or watch TV (which we didn't, but I assume it worked just fine). We also appreciated the double bed lights so that we could read in bed. We did not take advantage of the garden area, but It looked inviting for a quiet read or visit. The location is awesome - near everything, in a very nice neighborhood, with wonderful views from every window! We will definitely recommend this guest casita to anyone we know who plans to visit Santa Barbara. We had come prepared with a list of things to do and see, but did appreciate all the information that Mary and Tom provided on the sights, activities, restaurants, etc. If you have time, be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens, the Channel Islands for hiking, La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, Solvang (we enjoyed the outdoor theater), and of course, all the town sights. And if you like Traditional Irish Music and are there on a Thursday night, go to Dargans. We had a great time, enjoyed the beer, didn't think too much of the food, but we were there for the music which was wonderful! And finally, if/when we go back to Santa Barbara, the Casita would be our first choice of a place to stay."
