  • Ideal place for a family group or friends who want to hang out around a pool and spa

"This house accommodated our group of four adults and two young children with room to spare. We particularly liked being in our own little "compound" on a double lot with walls on all sides. We spent a lot of time around and in the spa and pool. While the house was built in the 50s, it has been thoroughly updated. It is located in an unpretentious residential neighborhood, which was our preference (we weren't interested in being in one of the gated communities that dot the valley). We cooked on the outdoor grill and sat round the fire pit at night. We didn't get to use the pool bar or the wood-burning pizza oven. Maybe next trip. The house is located close to the La Quinta village. Jule's Market is conveniently nearby in the village, and we recommend it for slightly upscale groceries as well as for your liquor, beer, and wine needs. Trader Joe's is a few miles away on Washington. Saturday farmers market in the village is worth visiting, too. We'd also recommend lunch or dinner at the La Quinta Resort and Club, a five-minute drive away. Other attractions at this end of the valley include Shields Gardens for lunch or brunch, and, of course, date shakes. Also fun is a movie at the Century La Quinita and XD theaters. Some of the theaters have the paired reclining lounge seating that can be reserved online beforehand. The one thing to keep in mind is that it's a 45 minute drive into Palm Springs or the airport. We made that trip several times to pick up and drop off people as well as to go to the Thursday evening street fair on Palm Canyon Blvd. It's not a bad drive, but if you plan to go into Palm Springs every day, it can get tiring. The property is very comfortable and homey but not fancy or spectacular. That suits our style. The owners really want to please, and help was provided when asked for. You will need to get a quick primer on how to operate the pool and spa pumps, but don't let that throw you. Be sure to tell them if you want the pool heated when you arrive because they will go over there and turn it on several hours in advance. Also, pool is heated to a max of 78, spa 104. If it's warm out, this is fine, but it's not bathtub warm. Keep in mind if you have little kids. All in all, a great place to which we'd return."

  • A very fun and enjoyable stay!

"The house was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi and the pool table were a huge success and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The beds in the four bedrooms were very comfortable (the sofa-bed, not so much) and we appreciated the high quality sheets and towels! Darci, the agent who facilitated our stay, was easy to reach, and helpful. I recommend this place warmly!"

  • Comfort & Location

"We spent the month of January in this gracious and comfortable property. The neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is so well equipped and the barbecue so good that we cooked at home every night. The salt water hot tub was a luxury we indulged in every night, under the stars, and we walked the paved trail every day beneath the mountains. The house was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. Al was attentive and responsive. We'd love to come back."

  • The best home away stay

"This lovely house is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood embraced by mountains. It's at perfect location for visitors to Joshua Tree National park, Palm Springs, and deserts at day time and enjoy a warm, relaxing away home at night. The view from backyard is breathtaking: mountain standing in front of you only few blocks away. Property is well maintained and equipped with everything needed for a night. We had lots of fun playing Ping-Pong and relaxing in the Jacuzzi with sunshine bathed. The hostess, Suzanne, is very generous leaving us a basket of snacks and pile of firewood for our convenience. She is so responsive all the time even after our checked out. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a rental home to enjoy what I had enjoyed."
