  • Perfect Home for a Desert Getaway

"My friends and I decided to do a weekend getaway to Joshua Tree, and we lucked out finding the The Starlight House. It was a perfect space for relaxation, cooking/eating, and recreation, with everyone having ample room to themselves. The house has cool features, like a great patio out front, a pool table, a really impressive non-Master bedroom design, and a full, open kitchen. The complex also offers a hot tub, which was the cherry on top of our weekend stay. Finally, the house is just off the main drag of serene Joshua Tree, and it is easy to get to both the national park and other surrounding areas. We hiked nearby, and it was a blast. This house is a great foundation for your Joshua Tree experience. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Comforting and Cozy!

"Roadrunner Retreat is comfortable, cozy and very warm. I came here to celebrate my birthday for the weekend. I didn't want anything crazy, just some relaxation. This was the perfect spot, not only was the home perfect in every way but also the backyard view of the mountains, the clear skies, and also the night sky with almost reachable stars, the bbq and also the nice fire pit. The house sleeps 4 people but it was only 2 of us and it was great. Coming from L.A. and living in a very busy city where you're always in a rush, Roadrunner Retreat helped us slow down a bit and take in some desert nature and peace and quite. This cozy home gives you the vibe as if it is your own. Neighbors are quite as well, just a few minutes out from the home you have your local grocery store , local restaurants, mom and pop shops and also a hospital, and a CHP department. The important things are close enough which also gives you a sense of relaxation. Laurel and Don have made this home so comforting and beautiful for their guest to enjoy and I hope to come back soon. WE LOVED IT. To Laurel and Don, thank you so much for the special gift you surprised me with on my birthday, I was not expecting the gift at all, very sweet and kind of both of you. Thank you so much for sharing and providing such a comforting home."

  • Quiet, Clean, Delightful

"This is a great spot for anyone interested in exploring Joshua Tree National Park, but also looking for some creature comforts. We typically camp when we visit the park, but opted to treat ourselves this time around and we weren't disappointed. Proximate to the west entrance as well as to town we would definitely stay here again."

  • Best Christmas away from home

"Being on the road for months on end, going from one cheesy motel the next can be interesting to say the least. So when we were closing in on Christmas, we decided that we wanted to stay in one spot for a longer period of time, and preferably a place that could feel a little like home. La Casita quickly became so much more than just a place to sleep. Nancy was the most welcoming and hospitable host, showering us with love, day trip ideas and the cutest little Christmas tree. Even as Nancy was leaving to spend Christmas with family, she thought of printing out a list pf places that would be open during the holidays (and things to do on a rainy day). And the place it self was so inviting and homey that we honestly felt sad leaving. The studio apartment is very well organized with a small kitchen, livingroom and bedroom all in one and a privat bathroom - and it is perfect as a base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park, which is right next to Twentynine Palms and an absolute must see for any nature lover! We would love to go back!"
