  • Gold Country Adventure

"Took our kids to see gold country and really enjoyed this cabin in Angel's Camp. We went gold panning in Jamestown, rode the steam engine at Railtown 1897, visited Columbia State Historic Park (awesome), and did some wine tasting in Murphys. The cabin was lovely: comfortable, safe and well maintained, loved the horses and it was an easy walk into town (although almost all businesses were closed down). Easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 & 10)"

  • Get Away Perfect!

"Thank you Barbara. Your home was beautiful and exactly as you described. The golf course is unbelievably beautiful. The entire community is peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed our 2 nights with our 10 year old grandson. The surrounding area has much to do and see. But again, the home offered a respit from our busy lives. Thanks for sharing it with us."

  • Excellent place for large group

"If you have need of accommodations for a large group of people in the Sierra foothills, I don't see how you could do any better than the Jolly Tar. It lives up to its name precisely because it is so clean and well-equipped that it makes your stay there convenient and carefree. Even during the heat wave, the swamp coolers kept it totally comfortable. It also affords a great deal of privacy with its many private bedrooms. The only unusual arrangement is on the lower level where the one bathroom serving the two bedrooms and pull-out couch in the living room in between is a private bath off one of the bedrooms. This necessitates the other guests to tiptoe through a private bedroom to get to the bathroom or go up a spiral staircase to access the bathroom on the main floor above. Honestly, this is a minor issue that would come up only if the downstairs is packed full. We had every bedroom in use, but there were still more bed space and couches. You could easily and comfortably sleep 20 or more. We had dinner for about 25 people one night, and there was enough room in the fridge and all the kitchen amenities needed. There is also plenty of parking on the property. It was absolutely perfect for our reunion group, and I highly recommend it. Thanks so much-- now that we know there's a place that works so well, we hope to come again in another year or two and make it a habit."

  • D in Danville

"This home was perfect for our family (4 adults, 3 teens). The three bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. we also used the 2 futons. We stayed four days for a family wedding in Murphys. Greenhorn is beautiful; we used the pool and golf course. House was clean; well equipped; plenty of linens; double garage. Perfect for our needs. Needs only one thing: a full length mirror."
