  • Satisfied

"Great location! Walking distance to downtown and three blocks from Highway 49. Home could use some updating but was still quite pleased and satisfied."

  • Beautiful and perfect!

"Thank you so very much Vannessa for letting us stay at your beautiful home. The setting is perfection. The deck is amazing and views are enough to want to make us stay longer. We enjoyed our visit while up for the Grass Valley dog show. As soon as we pulled up it felt as though we were visiting family. Warm, inviting, safe, and relaxing!!! Want to book it now for next year. Thank you. Sincerely, Misty Pursell & Mom Carol Lyon Rocking P Ranch Napa."

  • Loved this Totally Charming Creekside Cabin!

"This cabin in the trees was a perfect hideaway for two (although the bunk bedroom had plenty of room for two more). The friendly owners, Scott and Janet, are great and they thought of everything we could need for a wonderful stay. It was clean and comfortably furnished, well stocked, and the decor was rustic and charming even better than the pictures! We enjoyed looking at the interesting pieces of history scattered throughout the cabin. My husband brought a little work so he appreciated the strong wi-fi. Because the cabin was private and tucked away in the trees we were pleasantly surprised how quick it was to drive to Nevada City. The trails throughout the beautiful grounds are meticulously maintained with seating scattered here and there so you can just sit and watch the river, or sit IN the river. Even though I took a spill that put an end to our exploring, (Janet kindly brought me an ice pack for the sprain) our getaway wasn't ruined because the view from the deck, the sound of the river, the comfy cabin, and the wonderful smell and beauty of the trees still made it a lovely trip. (no pun intended. :D) I keep talking about charm because it's one of the top things I hope to find when I travel and this cabin filled the bill. I almost don't want to keep saying how charmingly perfect this place and its owners are because y'all will want to book it up and we want to come back, lol! But it really was everything we were hoping for and we think others will love it too. Scott and Janet, thanks for sharing your beautiful property and cabin!"

  • A Magical Getaway for Us

"This is our third time to stay at the Art Cottage in Nevada City. The first stay was a gift from a friend who had stayed there previously and loved it. In reality it is too much space for the two of us as it will sleep four. Still we love it for it's magical, fantasy, artistic, creative ingenuity in design and layout. For us it's living in a different world for a few days. We'd like for it to be out own house actually. All the rooms have been imaginatively created and each is unique. There is wonderful original imaginative art in every room. There is a variety of music, (CD;s) unusual and unique books about art (as well as TV) provided which is enticing and makes one want to stay on to puruse, read and listen. On top of that is a good-sized deck where one can sit and read, enjoy the greenery or have coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, or dinner if one so desries. Kitchen is well-equpped for preparing meals and which we did part of the time. As far as Nevada City itself, it's a charming historical tourist town at this point. We came to participate in an annual band concert invitational sponsored by the Nevada County Concert Band. Besides that, while there, we attended a l performance of "Little Shop of Horrors" that was extraordinarily well done for a little theater group in all aspects - staging, music, acting. There's an overabundance of good restaurants to choose from, a great historical museum, a variety of shops to putter around in, Pioneer Park which has a swimminng pool at one end. We had a happy time there both in and out of the cottage. M.L.D. and A.E.G."
