  • Best Family Vacation

"We had such a great time at this cabin. We spent one day fishing at Alpine, we had some beer and horse shoe at the Lube Room and we went to Moaning Caverns for the first time. It was so much fun!!"

  • Cozy, comfortable cabin in the woods

"The property is well-maintained, clean and comfortable. This is a small cabin that provided all basic needs for our family of four. We arrived after a storm, and access to the property was dicy. The road was ploughed (1 land only), with two parking spots at the end of the road that allowed us to turn the truck around. The way from the parking area to the bottom of the stairs was not cleared, so we had to stomp through 2-ft of snow and climb up the icy, partially cleared stairs. The owner was very communicative about the uncertain weather conditions and generously offered to refund if we wanted to cancel. We decided to go anyway. Once inside, it was warm, and enjoyable. I appreciate the effective insulation and thick carpet that kept the cabin warm, event through chilly nights, and has heaters in every room. The beds are comfortable and lots of blankets are available. Guests provide linens and towels. We have young children (1 and 5) and had to be watchful, especially on the steep stairs leading to the two upstairs bedrooms, and numerous electrical outlets/wires. The bathroom is tiny, but functional and clean. The kitchen worked well and we liked relaxing on the couches in the living room. We played in the snow, right around the cabin, and also at Spicer Snow Park (toward Bear Valley Mountain). Basic groceries and supplies are available in Arnold. It was a fun weekend, and I enjoyed the stay. We will consider it again in the future, especially whent he kids are a littel older. Recommend it."

  • Fantastic Weekend

"Our group of 33 (adults and kids) stayed for a weekend and had a wonderful time at the lodge. There was plenty of room to move around. The massive kitchen and dining table were put to good use. The kids had fun playing with the snow around the house and as if that was not enough, we drove to a snow park about 15 minutes away for even more fun. The weekend was filled with good food, fun games and intimate conversations among friends. We do have some suggestions for improvements: 1) Installing pull-out faucets in the kitchen sink...We found bending over the deep sink to do dishes for a long time could really hurt our backs ..2) Hanging curtains outside shower doors to give more privacy to the communal bathroom...3) Make the game room more inviting with better lighting and carpet...Water leaked in from outside while we were there... These were minor issues and did not stop us from having a great time.....As a bonus, the scenic drive on highway 4 to the rental was absolutely gorgeous and spirit-calming....Overall, truly a memorable weekend."
