  • Cozy cabin for our 2nd Honeymoon

"My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary weekend with a two-night stay at the Cubby Bear cabin. I literally squealed in delight at it's charm as soon as we stepped inside. Very comfortable and "homey" feeling. We spent most of our time out and about - enjoyed a dinner cruise to Emerald Bay on the M.S. Dixie paddle boat, explored the local flea market, took a drive out to Fallen Leaf Lake, jet skied on Lake Tahoe, and found lots of great places to eat. (Go to the Lucky Beaver Grill for the best burgers!) When we were indoors we enjoyed movies and games in the cozy living area. Nice sized master bedroom, though I have to say the futon bed took some adjusting to the first night. And I have to add, nice HOT showers! It's the perfect size for a couple to getaway or stay with a few little ones. (Adorable "mini" loft upstairs!) Thank you Hilary for sharing your little piece of cabin heaven with us!"

  • Great place with great amenities.

"Great place for our annual guys Labor Day trip. Layout is perfect; amenities are great and provided the home base for a great 3 day weekend. Owner was very responsive and helped resolve an issue with the hot tub while we were there. Highly recommend."

  • Great Location!

"Our family stayed here over the long labor day weekend - great place! Loved the fenced yard for the dogs too. Our kids live in the area, so it was a great place to have a family gathering and share some family meals. The kids also enjoyed some "playful" competition with each other at the ping pong table in the garage. There's a bbq grill in the backyard as well as a picnic table and plenty of chairs. There's also a fire pit, but sadly we weren't able to use it given the restrictions this time of year. There's also two very large trees in the back yard next to the patio and perfect for that portable hammock, so bring it when you visit. I've added this place to my favorites, so we'd definitely stay here again. The enclosed front porch is a definite plus, especially during the snow season for all the snowboarding gear. Even though you can't book and pay for this place on the website, Rachel made the rental process pretty easy. If I had any "negative" comments, and this really isn't that big of a deal - there weren't enough towels. If we had had a house full staying there the whole (long) weekend and everyone taking showers, there wouldn't have been enough towels (and I didn't see any cabinet/closet with extra towels). I had read that comment in another review, so I did bring extra towels as well as beach towels from home just in case. Thanks Rachel for sharing your home with us - we hope to be back some day."

  • As advertised

"I just completed a 16-night stay at Ripke Retreat and it was spectacular. All of the good reviews you read are true. The condo is very clean and beautiful, reasonably priced and in an excellent location. The kitchen and bathrooms looked new and worked flawlessly. As with everything else, the wifi worked perfectly. I had 4 groups of friends join me over the 16 days that I was there and all of them were as impressed with the condo as I was. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!! I have bookmarked this condo and hope to rent it again in the future."
