  • Awesome getaway!!

"We loved this place. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Deer came onto the property throughout each day and grazed on the shrubs and greenery around the property. Although the pond was smaller than we had anticipated, we weren't too far from the nearby lakes and streams which the guys all loved driving the short distance to get some fishing in. The evenings were nice. As far as the house itself--it was awesome. The pictures made it seem "larger" I guess, then it is in person. I thought the rooms and porch area with the patio furniture were much longer in the pictures than they actually were in person. I think it is merely the way a camera has to angle it to get everything in. There was only one set of patio furniture on the second level--even though the picture shows more. We could have used the extra seating, but that is ok because we simply pulled some of the chairs from the lower porch to use and then replaced them later. There were 3 levels with PLENTY of room. Every couple had their own room and a restroom on their floor to use. The house has beautiful with windows all around which we loved. The game room was a nice touch as well. Since we had a short stay, we only got in one night of activities in there, but it was so much fun. The property was well-maintained, except for the grill. We had to really clean it when we arrived because it was pretty grimy. I suggested to the owner that he might consider putting that in the checklist for visitors to clean before they leave--that way each new visitor can use it right away. But, in the scope of things, that is really minimal. I do want to say that the owner, Thomas, was very helpful with our stay. If we ever had a question or concern, he got right back to us on the house phone, which made us feel very secure. I WOULD DEFINITELY recommend this vacation rental to my friends!! In fact, we are already thinking about trying to stay here again in the winter months! It would be so beautiful to see the snow and utilize all of the pellet stoves provided in the house. • Wonderful Wine Weekend

"Whistler Cottage was the perfect rental for a wine tasting weekend for five women. We had everything we needed, the cottage was clean and inviting and the location was both beautiful and convenient. There is a pub and winery across the road! We enjoyed both. We look forward to a return visit."

  • Great location & comforable lodging!

"We had a lovely autumn visit to the foothills, such a great time to go. The cabin is in an ideal location, halfway up the pass, making it easy to go down to trek along Hwy 49 to historic sites or wineries, or up for more rustic endeavors in the El Dorado Forest, Silver Lake or Kirkwood during ski season. The "cabin" has generous space (huge!) and privacy from neighbors. My son enjoyed playing trucks in the dirt and riding his scooter in the driveway. Inside was spacious as well with comfy sofas and beds to accommodate many. We definitely recommend this place!"
