  • An awesome house on an awesome lake

"Our stay at Lake Combie was wonderful and the house and location exceeded our expectations. We are already planning our next vacation."

  • Mulri-Family Holiday Getaway

"Three of our children with their families joined us for a week over an Auburn New Years Eve Wedding nearby. All found the house very accommodating, and very well organized (and labeled), which we appreciated. Everything was spotless, with books, toys and games galore for all ages. The kitchen was well stocked and no additional supplies were required. It is a very peaceful location with a awesome view and the deer were in site every day. The towns of Auburn, Grass Valley and Nevada City offer fun outings. Highly recommended."

  • Wonderful Retreat!

"This was the 2nd time my family stayed here, and it was just as I remembered it. I can't say enough about the owners and their property~ absolutely wonderful! We stayed at the Pool House which was immaculately kept with all the extras of a resort and comforts of home. This time we didn't venture out and decided to spend the whole time at our little oasis. The owner's children were courteous and even invited my two younger boys to play a pool game with them... they had so much fun! After two nights, we didn't want to leave and will definitely be back again next year."

  • If you are looking for serenity, this is the place!

"We were looking for a quite, secluded and beautiful place to spend our Christmas/New Year's vacation. We were NOT disappointed. This place is off the beaten path but close enough to Auburn and the I-80. The scenery is perfect. The cottage is nested in some trees on 13 acres. The owner's live on site but far enough away to allow for privacy. The resident basset hounds are a hoot and provide plenty of entertainment with their antics. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and the like. The fireplace was an added bonus and made the cottage seem even more cozy and inviting. There were hundreds of TV channels and DVR. The wifi worked adequately but wasn't super speedy. There was plenty of extra towels, pillows and blankets for us to be comfortable for our week long stay. The art work on the walls was created by the owners and is fantastic. I couldn't stop admiring it. I wanted to take it home with me, but I left it for others to enjoy :). I loved reading through the journal to hear about other people's adventures in the cottage. There is plenty of rooms for your dogs to roam, but we kept out close to home because of ticks. The wild turkeys came en masse for a daily walkabout. The squirrels and deer were entertaining as well. Craig, the owner, was available for questions and was very laid back. This is the best VRBO experience we have had."
