  • Cozy little place

"On a whim, we decided to go to Mammoth for my 40th birthday with my family. Jeff's place was available at a decent price so I jumped on it. For the smallish size condo, you get a very well organized and set up place with everything you could possibly need. In fact, the use of space was impressive and made it feel like a bigger place than it was. It was clean, with plenty of towels and linens. It easily sleeps four, but if you're family or don't mind close quarters I'd say it is worth asking the owner if you have an extra adult (the couches are huge). That's the other thing about this place: you get to work directly with the owner, not some management company. Jeff was very accommodating, flexible and responsive (and a super nice guy who we ran into at the jacuzzi). This was especially important for us for check-in and check-out since we were coming up with a 2 year old, and my older parents and sister who don't ski. Only downsides I could think of was that the carpet could use an upgrade and there were a few spots near the edges where the nails holding it down were poking through a bit. Also, the dining chairs and tables could use a little tightening up as they were wobbly (as a toddler father, you notice these things). In summary, this is a homey place with everything you need for a comfortable Mammoth trip, including a wood stove, wifi, the jacuzzi just a few doors down, easy access to Mammoth Mountain (Canyon lodge), etc. If you're looking for luxury, it might not be a fit for you; otherwise it is a very convenient and comfortable place with just about everything you can ask for (we brought up our own coffee grinder but didn't need to!)."

  • Great Ski Out-Ski In Condo with Amazing Views

"This was a great ski out-ski in condo with amazing views! The main living area and well appointed kitchen worked well and was extremely comfortable for our large group of nine. We were there during a major snow storm so ski out/ski in was a bit tough (dense, heavy snow was a little cumbersome on one of the days, but the next day it was a lighter snow that packed down better, which made the trek much easier). Also, even during a major snow storm, we found the unit to remain plenty warm and never needed to light a fire. The fluffy comforters and bed warmers were an added plus! During snowy weather chains and 4 wheel drive are recommended as the condo is high up and the road is steep, but we made it in a minivan with chains. The upper loft with a bed and two bunks was perfect for three of the children in our group (11 year old twins and a 12 year old), but the lower ceiling clearance and steep stairs might be harder to navigate for adults and very young children."
