  • Exceptional, well-stocked, gorgeous and spectacular retreat outside Big Trees State Park

"This is one of the nicest "cabins" we stayed at. The space accommodates many people in separate beautifully maintained areas of the house. A lot of details are cared for: the new patio outdoor furniture allowed us to relax in style on the expansive deck overlooking forests and to explore the property's five acres of wilderness. We enjoyed a wide variety of non-digital games, award-winning games (Blokus, Katamino, and Pentago), strategy board games (Ticket to Ride, Risk), and classic family games (Trivial Pursuit, Life, Apples to Apples) and ThinkFun's Solitaire Chess. Our kids also loved the Rec Room that has a 65" Smart TV (incl. Hulu, Netflix, YouTube) and Xbox 360 with many top-rated games like Portal 2, Borderlands, Assassins Creed and Halo. And in a separate space, the Kids Hideout has a 50" Smart TV (incl. Hulu, Netflix, YouTube) with Wii and over 20 games like top-rated Kirby's Epic Yarn, MarioKart, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Lego Star Wars, Wii Music and Super Mario Galaxy 2. The kitchen was very well equipped and had a nice Nespresso Professional coffee/espresso machine. The dishes were nice hand-painted and pretty. All the indoor amenities were well taken care of and the large windows and quiet wilderness and fire pit outside meant we were close to enjoying nature. The driveway was also flat- and easy to access. This was an excellent home in a very nice location."

  • Cabin-like peace and views with modern amenities

"We had a wonderful time staying at Sandy's home. The views of the mountains look just as incredible as they seem in the photos, and the house itself is beautiful and very comfortable. The location is really special - while it feels remote, it's only a few minutes from Twain Harte, and just a little further from Sonora. You can tell that building this home was a labor of love. Sandy is a friendly, responsive, and accommodating host. When the power went out early on our first morning (our error), she responded to our texts in minutes and we quickly had it up and running again. One note for winter travelers - the water and heating systems are not dependent on the main house electrical system, so if there's any hiccup, you don't need to worry about going without heat or running water. Overall great experience - 4 thumbs and one paw up for returning again."

  • Awesome multi-family ski weekend!

"Our families have been coming up for three years in a row. Four families comfortably stay in the cabin. The big kids room is really cool. The old warm wood paneling through out the house really has a beautiful rustic "cabiny" feel. Dodge Ridge is 15 minutes away and the little kids carved a sledding run in front of the house. Jim is super nice and responsive. Everything about the cabin is great. I can't recommend it enough."

  • Superb accommodations for a large group!

"We had a great time with our family and had enough space to be together or apart😊"
