  • Awesome House!

"March 20, 2016. We just arrived home from our 2nd stay in this amazing house! We spent the weekend there with a few families from our neighborhood. The house is extremely spacious but even with a large group it amazingly never felt crowded. There are plenty of beds and rooms for everyone if they need privacy. The kids all like to stay in the one large bunkroom off the kitchen, which we now all refer to as the 'orphanage room', in the most endearing way. The kitchen and living areas are great. Lots of appliances, dishes, cups and silverware. There are 2 large kitchen tables so you can feed lots of hungry people all at once. The game room downstairs is a great place to chill. There is a ping pong table and large screen TV. After our day on the slopes on Saturday, we came back to the house and the kids made a big sledding hill. There was so much snow they started at the kitchen window. Everyone had fun playing with the snowshoes and cross country skis. Some of our party did not want to ride the mountain on Sunday but stayed at the cabin and played with all the toys. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Kirkwood."

  • Awesome experience

"My son and new daughter in law were married in August at the hideout. It was an exceptional experience on all fronts. I had visited the site a couple of times in advance so I was aware of its distinctive mountain beauty and the friendliness of the owners, BJ and Tom. Despite this, the overall experience was well beyond my expectations. Some highlights: - the weather was perfect - Tom and BJ and Dusty were there to ensure that everything went well throughout the three day period. The trick was they were not intrusive; but little things like setting up the campfire after dinner were great. - the facilities were even nicer that I expected after a couple of advance visits. This is clearly a labor of love for the owners and their attention to detail is clearly evident through the main house and saloon in particular. - we used most of the amenities including swimming in the pond, partying in the hot tub and camping and RVing in the camping area. All went off without a hitch. - and their set up for the wedding itself is idealic. If you are looking for a nontraditional wedding site with some adventure, I can not recommend this highly enough. Check it out; but do so well in advance. By the way, there is no curfew ..."

  • Lovely vacation home

"Thomas's cabin is so comfortable, beautiful, and spacious. We stayed there with 5 adults and 4 teenage boys, and had a great time. The layout is wonderful, allowing everyone to gather easily in one space, or to find their own space, with plenty of privacy. The game room is amazing, with a pool table, foozball, air hockey, darts, and poker. Thomas is an attentive host, returning a phone call within a minute when we had a question. The furnishings are lovely, the beds comfortable, the linens luxurious. And the price is lower than most similar accommodations elsewhere. We had a delightful time at Silver Lake Reservoir (about 30 miles away) one day, and on another day, some of our group hiked from there to two other beautiful lakes, that are only accessible by foot, and they had an amazing time. The grill on the deck is wonderful. I would recommend this vacation home to anyone. Thanks, Thomas!!"

  • Family fun

"We spent MLK weekend with extended family and friends, some skiers, some non-skiers, ranging in age from 18mo to 50+ and every one of us had a phenomenal time! The house is perfect for lounging, entertaining, enjoying all the mountain has to offer, even if just sitting inside taking in the view. My 5yr old was crying as we left saying he was so sad our weekend at this beautiful mountain home was over. That said it all! We'll be back...."
