  • This place was beautiful

"This home was comfortable, cozy, and bigger than expected! It's located in the backroads 50 miles East-ish of Placerville. It sits on a large plot of land and feels very secluded. There is another home in view about 100 yards away, but it's otherwise very private and serene. The hot tub fit a bunch of us comfortably, and we soaked in it for quite a while in the evening even in the biting cold. We sat around the fire pit one evening. We BBQ'ed on the porch another evening (although the propane tank died on us half grill). We sat in the living room and watched a ton of movies and ate a ton and relaxed. We had to make a couple of runs to the store and the closest thing was a couple of miles away at a gas station mart. There are no big grocery stores in the immediate vicinity, so keep that in mind. Overall, it was a great and relaxing experience. It was better than anticipated. The only minus was the lack of communication from the owner, Michael. He did well prior to our trip, but during the stay and a bit after, I did not hear from him even after a few emails sent to him. I take it he's busy, and I understand that and am flexible, but I was worried for a while. That's the only thing I think needs improvement. Michael was pleasant to talk to otherwise. I would stay here again."

  • Delightful, simply delightful!

"Good morning Edie! We are back, and already sorry that we didn't get to stay longer. We all agreed, your home in Placerville, was AMAZING!!!! We had all looked at the pictures, and sad to say, we have been led to believe other properties were amazing, only to find the pictures were cleverly taken to highlight that which wasn't really that large, it just looked that way in the pictures. We were blown away when we arrived, and all felt your mountain home was so much more than we all expected. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We all sat around Saturday morning, in the living room, and just did not feel any ambition to move, and it was okay! The peace felt there was surround and comforting, like your first feel of flannel sheets when the weather turns cold. We started to feel the same again, on Sunday morning, and all came to the realization, at pretty much the same time, that we would need to get out very shortly, sad to say. In our 36 years of our groups retreat, this has been one of the very best, and we sincerely hope to be back! Thank you again!!!!!"

  • What a great family vacation!!

"We stayed at the ranch for a relaxing family, my husband, our 2 daughters (each with a friend) and our dog. What a great place! The house is very nice...excellent condition...nice kitchen, great barbeque in the backyard and plenty of room for all of us! The entire property is very inviting and pleasant. Carrie (the owner) is super nice and very responsive! There is your own personal/private river access...we spent many days floating on the river near the property and if you want more space there is a great beach across the river. We also went river rafting with OARS company (right across the bridge) and had soooo much fun! What a great family vacation! We meant to go to nearby wineries and get out more...but enjoyed lounging by the river too much :-)"

  • Well furnished and cozy!

"My girlfriend and I decided to spend New Years Eve here and had a blast. The only hiccup was that we wanted to play Mario Bros till midnight, but there isn't a tv in the apartment. We probably could've had fun playing board games all night, but we'd been looking forward to Mario so we went to the nearest WalMart, picked up a tv, played all night, and then returned it the next day! Overall a memorable experience!"
