  • A Glimpse Of Heaven

"How should I begin describing the experience that I had at this property? Words can only go so far as to portray what courses through the heart, what glazes over the eyes. It is fair to start by mentioning that the hosts, James and Kathleen, are some of the most welcoming, caring people that you will ever come across. They created an atmosphere that was comforting, genuine and homely - I came to feel as though I had known them in another life. I immediately came to realize that they care about the well-being and peace of mind of visitors. Not only that, but it is also their desire to share this fragment of heaven in its fullness with the rest of the world. This brings us to the rental property itself. A great day starts with a good night sleep, and the beds at this household do not fall short of expectations. Not only do they look as soft as to be a portal to your best dreams, but as my friend mentioned after the first night, "I feel like I slept among the clouds." Upon daybreak, we were fittingly greeted by actual clouds drifting leisurely across the side of the mountains - a surreal view as we ate breakfast at the deck. We actually found ourselves wanting to eat upon the deck as often as we could, regardless of the temperature of late November nights. In fact, nighttime brought a whole other level of beauty to the property. As the light surrendered to the darkness, the sky was enveloped in a blanket of a million stars. We had the pleasure of witnessing the wind cascade over the mountains and into the valleys, lightly crashing upon the deck as waves upon a shore. The soft caress of this crisp mountain breeze, the murmurs of the gales that came upon the night, the accompanying silence...it all made for a memorable, and uniquely beautiful experience. As a last note, I am very grateful and appreciative for the mentioned care of the hosts. We had a rough patch of winter weather at the mountain of Sequoias during our stay, and they took it upon themselves to provide as much concern and support as a family would. Thank you James, and thank you Kathleen. It was an experience to remember!"

  • Retreat in nature

"We really enjoyed our stay at the North Fork River Ranch House. Steve allowed us to enter an hour earlier than the usual check in time and everything was ready for us. The house was exactly as it looked in the photos, had everything we needed, and was clean. It was the view of the river, however, that really won our hearts. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. At night, all we could hear were the crickets, the owls, and the river flowing. There is a neighbor next door, but his home was not really visible from the house, and he was so quiet, it was as if he weren't there. The ranch house is close to the Sequoia National Forest, so we spent a couple of days hiking. On the last day, we decided to just relax and enjoy the river. There were all kinds of things available at the house to amuse us. We chose to play horseshoes, as there is a horseshoe pit on the property. All in all, it was a wonderful retreat and a great chance to get away from the noise, traffic, and chaos of the city."

  • Wonderful home for the holidays!

"Five of us stayed over Christmas since we were visiting family in the area. This is a wonderful house with much to offer. Most of our activities were elsewhere this trip, but we started and ended the day here, and it felt so much nicer than a hotel. We look forward to enjoying the home's pool and jacuzzi someday in warmer weather. Pam was a great help to me in advance planning. I did buy a cheap phone with daily rates since Verizon is still extremely spotty there, so I thank her for that suggestion. The caretaker, Zack, was also very helpful. Overall, I think this is a great place for all ages and whether you want to explore the nearby parks or just relax inside with others. Thanks so much!"
